Default Do you socialise regularly?

Do you socialise? like actually go out, meet up with friends, go to events, meet for tea/coffee, attend parties, weddings etc?

We socialise quite a lot I would say we go out for drinks with different sets of friends/family every few weeks or at least once a month, we attend most parties like birthdays and weddings etc that we are invited to, we go to gigs, track days and so on.

Admittedly though sometimes we just cant be bothered with people and have cosy nights in by ourselves ignoring our phones and messages

As you get older I think your friend list gets shorter, people move in different directions, locations or mind set.

Only have one real friend.

That's not to say I don't go out as a couple with my other half.

Not that much these days, I pretty much burnt out at Uni, night out after house party after night out... it just all got really old . I have a drink and a catch-up with friends every couple of months, and occasionally out for lunch with th'wife and some people when kids are at school.

Getting out as a couple / with others in groups isn't easy for us these days, we would love to do it more, but the youngest's support needs mean that she can't be watched by random babysitters / childminders / friends... it has to be family who she knows... so that means my dad and his girlfriend coming up (1.5 hour drive, and they're also frequently away from home / unavailable) or my sister , who lives on an island... 2 hour drive + a ferry away, so that's pretty much just bigger occasions (birthdays, weddings, etc.) when we "book her in advance", or if she happens to be spending time on the mainland anyway. Wife's family is 4 hours away in England.

So basically... to make a long story short... I don't go out that much these days, would be more, but childcare is an issue.

That said... I also pretty much enjoy my own company so I'm not that bothered . I'm the weirdo who goes to the cinema alone on a weekday . I like it, probably prefer it most of the time . Also I reckon when I was younger people probably wondered why I was at the cinema alone... but these days... I think I look quite blatantly like "dad getting some peace and quiet"

Not really now, my partner cant get about so much due to her fibro..its her bthday today as it happens but doesnt want to go out because of it.

I usually go up london on a saturday once a fortnight and just pub crawl the place to death on my own.

Could go out every friday for drinks with work mates but basildons a ****hole, and they wont make the effort to gi across to billiricay.

Go to the occasional west ham game but i find that stadium tedious........

If i was still in scotland i would probably be out every weekend..football first then on the piss.

Not really.
I see friends every week, and neighbours pop in for coffee, but my outside of the house social life is quite limited. We try and get over to the coast or into the Dales/Moors most weeks, can't beat the fresh air and magnificent scenery.
My social whirl today consists of the blood clinic and the solicitors...oh yeah, this girl knows how to enjoy herself

Probably 4 or 5 days a week I'll socialise but its mainly pretty low-level stuff like going for a couple of pints or playing a round of golf rather than big events or a proper night out

I meet up with my 3 best friends every couple of months for a proper night out, in between I might meet them individually for lunch or breakfast once or twice. Myself and Gav have gotten pretty lazy, in general we'd rather spend a Fri/Sat night by the fire in our PJs with a glass of wine If we are doing anything it's usually a weekend or night away at a hotel and we'd usually go out then for dinner and to the pub. Oh we go to the cinema alot actually both with and without the kids and we'd go to "events" like friends birthday parties and that kind of thing but they don't come around too often
