Default Would you employ someone who has a tattoo?

I waver on this a lot. I obviously know having a tattoo would not impact on how you work and your attitude to work.

If someone had an obvious tattoo I'd ask them to cover it up like they do in airlines e.g. wearing a watch (if on wrist), wearing plasters, long shirts etc...

If they had it on their face I would not hire them.

Could you imagine Selfridges employing someone with their face and neck full of tattoos?

Yes. I would be more likely to hire them 0.31%

No. It would not affect my decision. 22.77%

It would depend on the role I was trying to fill. 35.08%

It would depend on how many tattoos and where they were. 28.00%

Oh, did the OP ask if we would employ someone who has hate speech written on their face?

No I didn't think so.

They didn't. As the question was would a tattoo itself prevent you employing someone.

Not "a tattoo containing offensive words or images".

But you knew that.

that would depend on who deems what offensive

most decent employers would view a tattoo on the neck etc as offensive to their customers and would not employ

Which is an entirely different response to "a woman with a homophobic slur on her face".

she would not be employed either

not sure what route you are going here apart from dialling back from saying you would employ someone with a face tattoo?

Dialling back from saying what? I haven't said that.

But you always deflect once you've reached a point of being PROVEN wrong.

I'll leave you to it.

Don't see why not when it has no impact on their job performance. Think most employers would find recruiting good people hard enough without ruling someone out purely on the basis of a tattoo, I really doubt any customers are going to be that put out by it if the person provides great service

What if that person has a big neon sign stuck to their back saying "I Hate Jews" alongside a tattoo of a penis on their cheek?

Yes, they don’t hinder someone’s ability to work so why not? Employers seem to be a lot more snotty about things like that than they assume the general public will be, ive never heard of anyone be offended by a persons tattoos in a workplace, it’s a ridiculous notion imo
