Default As a left leaning person, what do you make of J Corbyn?

So you would probably vote Labour or used to

what do you make of your leader, Jeremy Corbyn?

I like Jeremy. He's not perfect and doesn't pretend to be.

He’s trying to be a people pleaser with the whole Brexit thing but that won’t work, he needs to pick a side and be done with it, but in general, I agree with the majority of his policies, as he says, he’s for the many, not the few, he’s want to make the lives of every day normal people better, not just the rich like the Tories and Farage.

I'm not left-leaning as most people probably know, but I hold Corbyn responsible for the current rise in anti-Semitic attacks in the UK by making anti-Semitism acceptable. I also hate that he has close ties to some of the most despicable terrorists and despots in the world, people and organisations that have actively targeted this country, who are responsible for the deaths of innocent people.

I loved him to start with, I raved about him on here and its really embarassing looking back, I fell for everything. I find him fake as **** and someone who will just SAY anything to get a cheer but not actually mean it. He just flip flops around on important topics trying to please both sides and I cannot imagine him actually in power. Ontop of that, since then I have became aware of a fair few views he has that I completely disagree with and also am aware of a lot of his plans (when he actually makes plans rathet than fluffing with words) that I geninely think would 'ruin the country'. Now, I tend to agree with him on austerity, but not much else at all, but even that, who knows if he will actually do anything about the awful tory policies or not, I half think he wont and will just spend years going on about how awful the tories were but how its not an easy fix, yadayadyada. I could not vote for Labour because of him. And, this is an odd place for me. As I have always voted Labour. Even more an odd place when I think where I was as little as a year or so ago, when I really did see him as some kind of saviour!

i like the Labour party myself in my country Netherlands, they were once the biggest party here, now they had fallen a bit, but i like their never give up mentality and Always try to come with new ideas to win back some voters

Jeremy here for Labour, well i just dislike the anti-semitic things so i think someone more left than him would be making a better leader for Labour

You’d have a job on following my politics as even I don’t understand it

I was joking about Corbyn though.

He’s terrible. He’s destroyed the Labour party and made them unelectable imo.

Hmm I am not too sure on that part given the absolute state of the Tories at the moment. At an 'normal' time in history then yes, but the approval ratings of both are ****ing dire, so bad it should be embarassing them but seems not to be. I know so many who will not vote Labour solely because of Corbyn, but far far too many people would vote the way they vote regardless..which I think is why parties such as Labour and Tories get so complacent tbh, as whatever they do, they have a large amount of voters ready to lick their feet.

Now it looks a bit like its going to start where theres other parties involved in the race for the top fairly soon, but I still don't think it will happen in a GE quite yet. Lib Dems were slowly slowly climibing up years back, and seem to be getting there again, god knows how the brexit party will do in an actual general election as its different but..its all quite interesting. I do think theres a possibility..that Corbyn will get into power. Though most likely via a coalition..possibly a coalition with like 4 other parties or something too!

I didn’t say he was? He might not be personally rich (even though he’s very well paid) so his luxury lifestyle is funded by his billionaire pals, the only people besides himself that he’s interested in helping get richer.

Jezza is all for a fairer, more balanced society where everyone has a better opportunity to prosper.

He's no leader, he will never be fit to lead this country ,you cannot pick and choose who you talk to ,you choose to cosy up to terrorists but refuse to attend a dinner in honour of a man of peace ?

Yes a GE now would be fascinating.Definitely would be a hung parliament.

The two main parties are in dire straights.
I voted Labour in 2015 thinking ‘well i should vote for somebody’ and regretted it soon after.Never voted Tory.
In a GE now i’d probably just sit back and watch the fireworks.UK politics is a spectators sport for me now. It’s just a mess.

Maybe the country needs some kind of multi party coalition now to bring it back together.

it's weird because i dont think the tories or labour could win an election if it were held now. They are both going to need to get their act together very quickly if thats going to change.

Agree with that, they'd both be wiped out at a GE, not sure what that would look like exactly, but it'd be a mess.

He was never my choice of leader.
Still isn't.
The last election stunned me in how well he did from around at least 15% behind the Cons.

I would prefer him not as leader now.
He is in fact at odds with Labour members and voters on brexit.

Really, I think he'd like to leave the EU completely.
He has never been a real supporter of the EU.

In a general election now, he is the more likely to lead a government but it would need Lib Dems and SNP+ to govern I think.

I don't see him as Prime Minister, then again for near 3 years we've had a PM I think and am sure should never have been anyway.

However, my negativity to Corbyn as a member and supporter does not continue into his policies he has brought into being.

I support the vast majority of his policies, nationalisation and social care and attitude to the vulnerable, sick and disabled.

However I don't see him as the one now to go forward.
I'd rather another leader.

I don't believe he is an anti semite but am appalled at his failure to stamp it out.
I, in the party don't see it as rife as many claim.
However I was directed to the most valid point by Livia, one case of proven antisemitism is too many.
I agree.
He has not done so, and I don't believe that can be repaired with him leading the Party now.

So would like him gone as leader.
I neither like or dislike him.
I'm indifferent to him.

I never voted for him as leader, I wouldn't now.
I think it's time to go.

Although the Party for its policies has my support.
