To you, are your close friendships as important to you as a boyfriend/girlfriend/wife/husband or not?

Somethings you can only discuss with close friends, rather than family.

For me friendships are more important than relationships as I don't like the idea of being tied down to just one person, and if TV Shows are anything to go by, you have to be incredibly angst or dramatic 95% of the time.

Where as friendships are great because you can just have a laugh about things.

YES!!!

My partner is my best friend in the entire world, but as we get older I've definitely found that my other friendships are taking a back seat because my partner and I are beginning to settle and spend all of our time together. I hate the feeling of being tied down to one person so I definitely feel impacted by the reality of my friendships becoming weakened. From personal experience, based on the question asked in the thread title, friendships are definitely equally as important as a relationship.

my friends are very important to me but Gavin is my family so he has to be the most important (along with my kids obviously)

To me close friendships have always been MORE important to me than relationships and that's probably Reason Numero Uno why I'm single and my past relationships are pretty limited and short-lived lol...

Reason Numero Dos is that I'll randomly speak Spanish to say Reason #1.
