Default Should more be done to stop roadside begging in our cities.

Its a danger to the public and a waste of time for the begger cause I've never seen anyone give them cash

I've also seen police cars drive straight past as well without enforcing the law.

A waste of their time?

Well if they're homeless and living on the streets what do you expect them to do? Street cleaning?

We used to have some on all the roads near us but they have disappeared, I don't like the thought that they are being forced to beg so I used to give them a few bob, but you cant do it every time

Find a safer place to beg.

You are kidding!?

You can't stop at traffic lights in certain areas of London with someone hobbling up to your car..most of them do it up the middle of the lanes as well which is highly dangerous.

I don't give to beggars. But I do support a couple of homeless charities because I believe homelessness shames us as a country.

It sounds like this is mainly a London problem and (from having briefly attempted to drive in London) I'm pretty sure it'll be because traffic in London, at certain times of day, simply does not move. I mean Edinburgh can be bad at times but ... it's a whole other level. We drove from Scotland, got to the outskirts of London at the expected time (actually nearly 30 mins early) ... Pulled into the hotel car park two HOURS later than expected after crawling through the city at 3mph. Torture.

They're absolutely everywhere in London, some of them are fine because they just sit there but the ones who try to harass you every time you walk past them are ****ing awful. I do think it gives London a really bad reputation though when you can barely walk down a main road without seeing them especially in places like Oxford Street. I'm really shocked they're not moved tbh

i think something should be done about professional beggars (the majority) real homeless would then get a fairer reception

They're giving London a bad reputation for the shocking way the UK is dealing with homelessness.

Move them on where? To the alley where they can't be seen?
