A "furloughed boredom" activity I've taken up is making my garden more bird friendly! I've made a bunch of feeders and stuff,and it's been working! It took a couple of days, but then they started to trickle in, and now I've got loads of feathered friends My family used to do falconry so these ones are a bit more boring, but still!

honestly same, its like watching eastenders out the window seeing the all fight and flap

my local birds are 4 pigeons (who all HATE each other), a male and female blackbird (who always sunbathe), a whole flock of sparrows who appear in mass, destroy the fat balls and then leave, 2 cute blue tits who I think live in the birdhouse we have, 2/3 robins who are really brave and always come really close then you're sat out and my favourite is this little brown bird who always sits in this purple tree we have and she just minds her own business pecking at the floor all day, we call her little fatty because shes really round.

I think one of my pigeons is having an affair

For ages I've had a pair of woodpigeons who come into my garden, and they were a cute pair. But recently the one I labelled "Mrs Pigeon" has been coming with a common pigeon, and whenever "Mr Pigeon" comes they basically chase him off...

have you a bird batch, we have 3 but they all use the same one, what's all that about

I've got two! One is a "proper" bird bath I got off the 'net, the other is just a round plastic tray thing I filled with water. Both get used, but the latter seems to mostly be used for drinks, while the former is used as a bath.

have also been doing that recently

i notice quite a lot of pidgeon as usual in my garden, however now 2 crows made a nest in a large tree across our house, and those crows start attacking pidgeon more like fighting over the birdfood, and waterbath

also a very big crow one of them, and also not shy at all, i can come close to it and it does not immediately fly away

We've had a woodpecker visiting. We have magpies that fight with the squirrels, a ridiculously friendly Robin (who I think is my mum visiting....same steely stare lol) and a teeny tiny wren that is around a lot. Love watching them

Yesterday evening we actually got our binoculars down to have a closer look at the birds in our garden. I told my husband to get a book and identify them

I've got an app which can identify birds by song Sometimes I hear them, but can't see them.

There are loads of red kites in my area, so they're always overhead <3

It's great! I used to to identify the ones I could see but not hear, and bought food especially to lure them in.

I put our 3 fat balls every day and feed my crow with bread, cake and dog food or leftovers

Always beeen bird lovers in this house , swifts come back every year, blackbirds nest in the bamboo , loads of others come . In the past we've had a kestral and a sparrow hawk , but not good news as i've seen them take collared doves and woodies . Also jackdaws , we have woods close by.I am off course feeding the foxes all our leftovers since i lost my dogs and nightly since lockdown cos no food out there. Getting through eggs at a rate of knots and buying for them.

Mr and Mrs Pigeon are back together, and they've been bringing what I can only assume are their babies! They not that much smaller than normal pigeons, but it's noticeable when they're all together.

One or two look more like common town pigeons,so I guess the affair had some fruits

Our local pigeons are rampant .. falling off branches through all the rumpypumpy .. plus their wings are so noisy when they’re flapping around ..

When we moved to our new house 7 yrs ago we made an effort to make the garden bird friendly and we have found a new hobby. We were, until lock down, out and about in the countryside as often as we could and had seen ever so many birds. We set off a few months back to see if we could find some red kites. had no luck all morning so went back to where we had parked the car and, low and behold, there on a gate post was a magnificent red kite!
