Yes, to an extent. Just not on the same level as the first one, I think.

I voted not very likely. And I mean in terms of it being a full lockdown like before, that is not very likely.
I can’t imagine them closing off the high street and businesses for months again |

Not like before, just constant on/off localised ones for "high risk areas" from here on out.
Mine starts tomorrow at 6pm (North Wales) but it's basically do as you did before but don't leave the county or see friends/family for two weeks... Last edited by LaLaLand; 30-09-2020 at 11:12 PM. |

They won't and can't rule another out.
I'd doubt it would be as full a lockdown as the last one. No one has any idea what is going to happen as winter sets in. So with that in mind I voted 50/50. It's not off the table but in reality I don't think the politicians of all parties nor the public want another like the first. |

...I think that maybe there will be another full lockdown...I know how destroying it is to industry/economy etc so there would obviously always be a reluctance ...but so long as there isn’t a full lockdown but it’s how it is now atm with the infection figures being as they are...?....the front line medical workers will need for things like road traffic accidents etc to decrease with people still travelling to work/schools etc...I just can’t see how it could be avoided with any possibility of it all being coped with in the medical units...

Doubtful since Rishi is threatening to jump ship and the economy would likely collapse.

No, people have to amend the way they live for a while, locking down is just a temporary respite with little to be gained in the long term

Doubtful and I hope not, the arts industry is already devastated by the last one. We can’t keep locking down after every flare up if this is going to carry on until a vaccine

I think its probable. Though there isnt much point it wont work. People will break the rules more than they did first time around and its just prolonging the inevitable, when everything would open up again it would just flare up again like it has this time
The only hope we have is if there is a vaccine in the near future. But all of us just have to make sure we allmprotect one another and remember distancing and hygiene

Yeah we have been in local lockdown for over 2 weeks now. Nothing said about if we are coming out of it. But as you say its pretty much normal just you cant mix with another household for now

It would be easier if Boris Johnson made it clearer what those rules are.

we won't have a full scale lock down, but i think tougher restrictions are incoming, Things like travel only when essential for work/school etc ... no household mixing and potentially the full closure of pubs/restaurants are all possibilities if the infections dont level off

Depends what you mean. Yes to an extent, but not on the scale of the first one in terms of what is and isn't closed. e.g. drive-thru isn't going anywhere this time, and probably most highstreet retail. I can't see them closing schools but not impossible - with higher possibility for older agegroups (15+).
Other than that I'm not sure how much more they can do. People don't want to do it. They can enforce some parts (e.g. closing bars, pubs and dine-in) but honestly at this point I do accept the argument that it would probably just push people into more household mixing. |

Where evidence points it might be driven. No one really "knows" dick about it, let's face it, that's what's become abundantly evident in the last month or so.

Probably a fortnight one or something. Not months long.

I don’t think we’ll have a lockdown like we did previously. I think they will begin to implement more restrictions instead.

for all we know, the safe distance could be 2m in summer and 4m in winter, i think something like that is in play now because people have in the majority stuck closely with the guidelines, i'm not one for getting outraged at the medias frenzy driven examples of handfuls of people breaking the rules
