So this morning Boris was on the radio just confirming that he’s simply following the rules in place ... for this type of situation..

He did add that he’s feeling absolutely fabulous and he’s bursting with antibodies !!

Now this would be a great time to have his antibodies tested and show us all the results ..

Personally I think YOU are wrong with your reduced immunity theory. Its been shown there are 2 strains, that you've had one become immune to that then caught the other.
The 2nd infection presenting as asymptomatic.

He is the first recovered person I've heard of that has had to isolate again.
As you say the virus has only been around for a year so mosthat people are confused as to its virulence.... Except you armchair experts obviously.
There are a few people wondering why he would have to.

I'm also not saying anything about whether he is/isn't likely to be immune or catch it again or any of that really... the rule is if you've been in contact with someone who tests positive, you have to isolate, no exceptions... so he has to isolate. Can you imagine the uproar if he didn't isolate and they used "well, he's had it before..." as the reason?

He might have immunity, he might not... unless you have access to a recent antibody test you don't know either way.

“Of nearly 30 million cases to date since December 2019, there have been only about 10 documented and confirmed cases of re-infections. These data suggest that resistance to reinfection might be less a function of durability of the immune response and more one of breadth,” said the authors, led by Deepta Bhattacharya, an immunobiologist at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.

He's basically been self isolating since hiding in a fridge before the election.

''maybe he has immunity, he doesn't''

still a good reason enough to self-isolate, if you are not sure

so i must applaud Boris for making this decision

It's no wonder the country has such high infection rates when people can't be bothered to access and read what they have to do, if you are contacted by Test and Trace and told to isolate that is what you should do, it doesn't matter if you have had it 100 times before

People were guffawing when Trump said he might be immune, now the narrative is Boris is immune, like literally I just give up!

He wasn't hiding in a fridge though was he Slim ? that was the medias interpretation of it because Boris would not do what they wanted ,he was already going in and out of the fridge as he was helping some milk company I think, To be honest I wouldn't speak to any of them either especially the GMB mob.

[If Trump really did have it] he probably IS currently immune, it was only a few weeks back. Of course, the main problem with Trump is that he seemed (unsurprisingly, it's Trump after all) to not give a **** if he was putting anyone ELSE at risk by holding non-distanced non-masked gatherings. He was of the "Well I'm not gonna get it so who cares?" mindset.

Well, exactly. I guess like I said before, there are two separate debates: Is Boris isolating theoretically necessary and is Boris isolating what he should be doing right now. Though only the first question is a debate - the second one CURRENTLY has a clear answer, which is yes, 'cos that's what the rules say and I think we've all had out fill of politicians "bending" the rules... and they certainly know that.

I sort of think, if they do change it so that vaccinated people no longer need to isolate on contact, government officials should really be some of the first to get the jab to avoid these situations. I'd be interested to see if that actually happens, though. Can see them wanting it more thoroughly tested on the proletariat first .

True. Especially as the app operates anonymously and a contact by no means indicates a likelihood of getting ill (most won't actually have caught it, it's precautionary) so really... the only evidence that exists that he was told to self isolate by the app is that he says he was.

if Boris wanted to hide away from the public gaze, he would ... he has done it plenty times before. He doesn't need the isolation excuse and it's silly to suggest otherwise. Someone has to still answer questions in parliament, it doesn't need to be Boris and again, suggesting that it would make a difference if Boris was present or not is just silly

That's some world class mental gymnastics. The PM shouldn't be scared of the hard hitting puff journalism of GMTV

Of course there will be scepticism and rightly.
However this MP who has it, had it confirmed on Saturday.

However it seems said nothing to Johnson after just seeing him with it.
So Johnson had to wait for track and trace to tell him later he'd been in contact with an infected individual.

Of course he's right to isolate if told.
Because it is the law.

It's actually good to see he does now think the rules and law have to be adhered to.
Considering he didn't say so during the Cummings saga and Cummings fairytales.

I didn't see much moaning at Johnson for his support of Cummings at that time.

Amazing how they all troop out to defend Johnson and believe his almost every word.

Yes he's doing something right, for the first time in a long while.
Only however too in part because it suits him to.
