His pretty much joint fave to be next Labour leader next to Burnham.

I can't ever seen a Labour run Government privatising the NHS. It just wont happen. Wes is the kick up the arse Labour need imo. He really isn't a Tory Slim.

Doesn't have to be fully privatised, and that's not the point. When private companies are involved, they are involved only for profits. Profits that should be going directly into the NHS.

it depends how purest your definitions are. Tony Blair started the privatisation of the NHS a long time ago, they privatised more of it than the tories have. By that I mean they started contracting out more and more services, which really isnt privatisation. If the NHS was truly public it would be manufacturing and supplying its own drugs and stuff, which is clearly ludicrous

It still remained committed to funding and improvement - even though I despise Blair, that has to be recognised.

Tories have collapsed funding and improvement and opened it up as a bank for the private sector.

They brought into being for goodness sake.

If they ever were to really go down that road then Labour would be and would rightly be thrown out of ALL office.
Government, local or otherwise.

Wes won't privatise the NHS either, I have no doubt on that myself.

I've had referrals before for private services (I have a weird condition lol) and I get it on the NHS - the way it works is they carry out the service, and send an "invoice" to the NHS.

I'm guessing it would work in a similar way, but more so.

He would be inheriting a mess made by Blair and the Tories. Something has got to give. 20 plus years of deterioration will need, not drastic, but realistic measures in a hope of genuine rebuild.

The NHS wasn't a mess when the Tories took over; waiting times were low, and customer satisfaction was high.

There is not an unlimited budget, so when large private companies filter money out of the NHS, then services are automatically impacted. If you don't like what has happened to the NHS under the Tories, then no one should think labour doing the same things will be better. It's honestly really simple, so have no idea why folks want to turn themselves in knots to pretend it would be different.

You also have a slippery slope, so when NHS specialists see private specialists earning more for less hassle, then of course, they will leave the NHS too, and services are further impacted.

Us healthcare donors aren't giving money to starmer and streeting for a laugh, they expect that to be paid back with interest in profits.

Here's the kicker - I make my money by taking money out of public sector healthcare. Not the NHS, but from the social care budgets,

The covid pandemic was the greatest stimulus package I've ever received, and because of that, I paid lots of people a lot more money than they should have been getting, which would have been invested in their local communities through shopping etc. When US private sector does that, it goes straight to American shareholders, and offers zero benefit to the UK at all.

I understand what you're saying, but something needs to be done, and if regulated and controlled, i think it can work. I feel it can help the NHS run more efficiently, again, if rules and regulations are put in place.

Nothing can beat the Tories and Truss' scumminess, it's clear keeping the wealthy happy and adding to their wealth is the main goal.

Bit off putting Labour singing God save the King. But they do need to appeal to the on the fence voter, and it's clear the support for the royals is as strong as ever here.
