With no complaining or real expectations from any to any.

Jordan knows what he's up to. His traumatic childhood made him neurotic to the point of literally learning and using a more proper accent. His sense of humour is a coping mechanism for pain as it is with most consistently funny people. I imagine being rasied by a young mum and his dad being an absent (now dead) heroin addict developed a strong attention seeking streak in him which is the fuel for most of what he does, rather than genuine love for this person or that person, hence seeming quite the **** when he uses people to maximise attention gained.
