Yeah the police said that. I had to go in the bank and put a stop on my card. They are sending me a new one with a new pin.

No but that's really quite scandalous. Sorry you had to go through something like that. What a way to start the new year. Unfortunately not all that uncommon nowadays. Criminals feel emboldened by lack of police initiative in going out and solving actual crimes, and not just a few mean words being spoken on twitter.

Just last month, I saw a mugging while I was walking through the local woodland. Heard some sort of a commotion happening around the other side of a pond that was half-obscured by trees, and then I saw a young guy scarpering away on his bike and with a young woman chasing after him. I honestly thought it was just a boyfriend and girlfriend pissing about with each other until I heard her calling out that he'd stolen her phone. Unfortunately he was well away by the time that registered.

It's my own fault the police more or less said because I was on my mobile phone and not paying attention to my bag. They weren't nasty about it but they said I was targeted.

I'm honestly so relieved I had my mobile phone in my hand and not in my bag. I would have been even more upset if I'd lost that. Its my lifeline.

I always make sure I have my bag with me, it helps that I have a crossbody one . But still you have to be so careful these days, muggers & thiefs are getting more bold and sneaky. I never leave my bag unattended.
