Quand il pleut, il pleut

…this is an article from just over a year ago and something that Teja was approached to be involved in, she’s obviously always had awareness of social issues and any impact on people that she’s known ….
"I've got a lot of friends and family members who have been stopped," Teja said. "We wanted to give a voice to young people and talk about what's been going on." Avon and Somerset Police admitted at the time of the article that it had “much more work to do” after it declared itself “institutionally racist” the previous year. Figures for the first five months of 2024 show black people were still six times more likely to be the subject of stop and search than white people in the Avon and Somerset area. The force has published a report into its anti-racism strategy a year after evidence found a difference in the way it interacted with people from different ethnic and racial backgrounds. …the article …. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cz7e12lj5p0o …and the short 7 minute video is a very powerful watch… Unjust Stop is a powerful short film written and performed by young CPT, focusing on the disproportionate use of stop and search tactics in the black community. The film sheds light on the negative consequences of improper stop and search practices and their profound impact on young people. Additionally, it emphasizes what a proper and respectful stop-and-search should entail, aiming to educate and inspire change.

I'm amazed that the police investigated any potential crime in Somerset tbh.
They're all too busy playing Cricket. ![]()

…Teja shows social awareness and an interest in politics, which I think is a good thing…what we’re seeing in BB though as well is a lot of aspects to her character, which we all have…she’s young and fun and enjoying herself and her experience…I don’t see why or how her involvement in this project would in any way be a negative, she was approached to take part from what the article is saying …no matter what any of our beliefs in terms of anything political/social issues etc..we all seem to agree, or many of us that tolerance and listening and not judging/labelling on single aspects is so important because it’s so damaging and dividing to do that…
…anyways, I posted it because I thought that it showed a great side to Keja, that she seems more the housemate that’s not so ‘self promoting’ and at a very young age, is involved in things that impact others around her…
