At around 8 pm I started having chest pains and sickness. It intensified and my breathing wasn't great. Rang 111 for advice and an assessment when it was still happening at 10.30 and they sent an ambulance, was less than half an hour wait. They advised me to let them take me to A and E for a heart trace. It was very good because they assessed me as priority and I was triaged and seen in less than 45 minutes altogether. Heart was OK but they diagnosed stress and that caused the symptoms. I'm completely wiped out today, but the sickness has stopped and the pain. Just some discomfort. Was told to get lots of rest for a few days.
My appetites not up to much I'll just have light meals. Can't fault the treatment I got.

Get better soon Kate. From what you described, it sounds like you had a panic attack. They can be very scary when they come on

I have never had a panic attack but have had asthma episodes where it felt like a fixed layer of bricks was laying over my chest. When it first happened I thought it could've been a panic attack because of what other people had told me based on their experience and the fact I was grieving heavily also at the time as I had just lost my pup. Strongly considered ER but I was able to borrow my husband's inhaler. I felt wiped the next day. If you do have allergies make sure to stay on top because that will not help with breathing passages feeling clear. I am glad you were able to be seen and get treatment.

So true !! I had a funny doo a while back It was during the early days of Covid when we all sat down at tea time to watch Sky News tell us how many THOUSANDs had died in England that day .. Then one day at work , at lunchtime, in the staffroom - a government official on the telly announced that the main people dying were males over 50 and it knocked me sideways .. I apparently just sat there at end of break - whole body shaking- I was in another world just worrying myself sick ! |

…I know that you’ve said a few times on the forum recently, Kate…that it’s all become and been…a lot and that you’re struggling…that’s very sad to hear, I hope that each day helps you to feel stronger and stronger going forward …

Goodness. Sounds like you had quite-the scare. I’m very familiar with panic-attacks ( from actual personal experience), so if that’s what it was, you must’ve had a hellish experience last night. I really do hope you’re feeling fully better soon. Try and rest as much as you need to and drink chamomile tea (if that’s something you enjoy).

I'm feeling a little bit better today thankfully. Karl is taking me for a drive out this morning, nothing strenuous.

I'm sorry to hear that you went through something like this Kate.
I know that you've been going through a lot recently, and I hope that it all changes for the better for you sooner rather than later.
