Day by day, we're watching him grow and like Simon said, he's turned into a man in the last week. His Elton John performances stole the show. Everyone in the house would vote for Joe, from mammy and daddy to the kids. And because he's from the North he'll get a massive northern vote. He's also an incredibly nice guy. Joe wins this as things stand. But do they want him to win and will they let him win? So far it's seemed as if he is the chosen one but I think if he gets to the final, which I expect him to, they could switch to Danyl. Stacey still holds little chance imo. She is a poor version of Alexandra, who is a poor version of Leona... Not really the way they want the show to go is it?

Joe McElderry will win The X Factor and he will do it for his gran, his best friend has claimed.

Billy Turnbull revealed that McElderry owes his success to the support of 75-year-old Hilda Joyce, who has always kept his feet on the ground.

Turnbull, 18, told the Sunday Mirror: "Joe's nan is his biggest fan. She has always supported him, no matter what. When his parents split, she was like his rock. He's going to win the show - and he'll do it for her."

He added that McElderry has been overwhelmed since auditioning for the ITV1 show.
