Glee is the hottest new show to hit our screens this year. It focuses on a high school show choir, also known as a Glee Club, set within the fictional William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio. Within the club are the rejects of the school, the bottom of the high school food chain including preppy, career focused Rachel, wheelchair bound Artie, hot tempered diva Mercedes and camp showman Kurt. It's been confirmed that the show has been picked up by a UK broadcaster to be aired in the near future. In the States, it airs Wednesday nights on FOX, available for download the next day. This thread will run at US pace for those who watch ahead and for those who will be watching when it airs over here. There will be spoiler discussion, so be careful if you haven't seen yet

E4 have picked it up! I think its a really great channel for the show, it'll fit in well.

E4 has announced that it has secured the UK broadcast rights to musical comedy series Glee.

Last week, reports suggested that the Fox series was headed to the UK. E4 has since confirmed that it will air all 22 hour-long episodes of the Ryan Murphy-created show, starting in 2010.

"The buzz around Glee has been almost as big as its musical numbers," said Channel 4's head of acquisitions Gill Hay. "This huge, glossy, all singing, all dancing musical comedy drama series does precisely what it says on the tin.

"It’s the first of its kind on E4 and we are sure the E4 audience will be thoroughly entertained by its fun show-stopping exuberance when it arrives on the channel next year."

Fox's Steve Cornish added: "Glee is a fun and unique musical comedy that we think is a perfect fit for E4. We have high expectations for this show and are delighted to be working with E4 on the UK launch."

The series, which stars Matthew Morrison and Jayma Mays, recently premiered to a respectable 7.14m in the US and has been handed a full-season order by Fox.

I love the Ballads episode. All of the songs featured are brilliant, they do cover some good songs which I know for a fact if they didn't then I would neither never find out about them or just forget them.

Glee hit a new high for E4 last night, early viewing figures show.

The latest instalment - episode 10 - pulled in an impressive 1.25m (5.2%), making it the most-watched programme on the multichannel stations. A further 255k (1.5%) tuned in on timeshift.

The previous high for the season came during the Monday, February 16 episode, which logged 1.21m (4.9%).
