Lady Gaga Accused Of Copying 'Judas' From Singer

Lady Gaga has been accused of copying her hit single "Judas" from a Chicago-based singer and songwriter.
Rebecca Francescatti filed a lawsuit against the outlandish star, claiming she plaigarised her song "Juda", which she recorded in 1999.

Ms Francescatti claims that "substantial original portions" were lifted from her song.

She worked with Brian Joseph Gaynor, a member of DJ White Shadow, on the title - who also worked with Lady Gaga on the album "Born This Way".

DJ White Shadow claims to have written 17 of 20 songs on "Born This Way", the lawsuit says.

Ms Francescatti is seeking profits from the sale of the record, or damages of an unspecified amount.

Mr Gaynor, DJ White Shadow, Interscope Records and its parent company Universal Music Group are also named in the suit.

A spokeswoman for Lady Gaga was not immediately available for comment, and a spokesman for Interscope declined to comment.

The singer is currently embroiled in another lawsuit over claims she profited from charity wristbands she sold to raise funds for Japanese tsunami victims.

The singer insisted that she is fond of all her creations, but went on to name three tracks in particular that stand out for her.

"Well, 'Bad Romance' has a special place in my heart because it meant a lot to the Little Monsters when it came out. I also think 'You and I' is one of the best songs I've ever written," Lady GaGa told AOL Music when asked to name her favourites.

"But the third best song... Well, I suppose I would have to say 'Poker Face.' But see, I have very different feelings about different songs at different times. I could also say that 'Fooled Me Again' is one of the best songs I've written, and that was never on any of my albums. I could say that 'Marry the Night' is my third best song, or 'Americano'."

GaGa added: "I go through these artistic rebirths where I envision my songs in completely different ways. But I guess I'd say my third best song is 'Poker Face'."

GaGa is currently being sued by singer Rebecca Francescatti over claims that she plagiarised her 1999 song 'Juda'.

Last week, she revealed the artwork for 'You and I', which will serve as her newest single from Born This Way.

Lady Gaga joined Bennett for a duet of the jazz standard “The Lady Is a Tramp.” Their rendition of the song will appear as the first track on Duets II, which will be released on September 20th to celebrate the singer’s 85th birthday.

Lady GaGa will open this year's MTV Video Music Awards.

Fans of the 'Born The Way' musician broke the news using a large black and white banner at an event in Times Square on Thursday evening.

Speaking on MTV, GaGa said: "I have a really big announcement, but I thought as usual, instead of me announcing it, I'd let the Little Monsters do it for me."

Lady Gaga and Beyonce are among the artists banned from music download web sites by the Chinese government.

The artists, we learn from the Globe and Mail, have fallen afoul of respectable Chinese whims for singing things like "Girls run the world", and, er, something by Lady Gaga.

One hundred songs by the artists have been placed on an updated blacklist of Internet tunes by the Chinese Ministry of Culture, according to the Globe and Mail, and download web sites have around two weeks to delete them. We do not know what will happen to those firms that do not, but we imagine that it will be unpleasant and costly.

Other songs that The INQUIRER would prefer not to hear again anyway have also been banned. These include "Last Friday Night" by Katy Perry and "I Want It That Way", by the Backstreet Boys. In the past the Chinese Government, which strangely we are starting to feel warmer about, has also banned covers of Celine Dion songs and some numbers by April Levine.

Lady Gaga along with Christina Aguilera cause China the most concern and, as well as being the most censored artists in the country, both are considered "threats" to national security. µ
