Do they have links to Rangers?
King Gizzard
12-05-2012, 07:21 PM
Dortmund, Monchengladbach, Fortuna Dusseldorf, St Pauli or Schalke
HSV have an affinity with Scottish club Rangers. HSV fans unfurl their club logo at Rangers' away European matches. The link between Rangers and Hamburg dates back to 1977 when the Hamburg Rangers Supporters' Club was set up by HSV fans who had visited Rangers matches before and were thrilled by the atmosphere at Ibrox. The links were further strengthened when Rangers signed Jörg Albertz from Hamburg and when Hamburg won UEFA Cup and Europa League matches against Rangers' most notorious rivals Celtic FC. The friendship between Celtic FC and Hamburg's rivals FC St. Pauli has no influence on this friendship though. Rangers Ultras group Union Bears have a strong friendship with Hamburg Ultras group Chosen Few Hamburg. HSV have a friendship bond with Hannover 96, due to both being known as HSV. Their meetings involve the visitors' club song to be played, and fans chanting HSV from each end of the stadium.

# They have become the first team since the 1998-99 season to miss five penalties in one season.
# Stewart Downing is the first player to miss three penalties in a row in the league since Juan Pablo Angel in February 2005.
# Opta stats state that Manchester United have had 51 shots fewer than Liverpool in the league this season, but have remarkably scored 41 more goals than the Reds.

They did go pretty crazy at the start though, and splashed out on a lot of players that didn't really perform like Shevchenko, Mutu etc. and still didn't win any trophies until Mourinho came along.
Some players that were signed under Mourinho's reign were people who Abramovich wanted e.g. Shevchenko and Mutu because they were his friends and that annoyed Jose as he wanted other transfer targets, hence the breakdown of their relationship at Chelsea and RA trying to poke his nose in team matters.
Abramovich made a big mistake disillusioning Mourinho from the club and has lost a bit of popularity since then from some Chelsea fans because they loved Jose, despite the amounts of money he puts into running that club.

Barton shouldn't be banned for life..that's a bit overboard he only kicked him slightly in the leg, Cantona full on Karate kicked a fan and played after that :joker:
I agree Novo, however I am a great fan of Joey though, I did fear that on his return to the Man City ground he may explode, it was the place of his past trouble in football, actually Tevez would likely annoy me though,l don't care for that guy at all.
Joey will get punished no doubt and rightly so, I do wish he would hold his temper better but for me despite that temper he is still one of the really gifted footballers, also other players as you point out Novo such as Cantona, did as bad,if not worse, even towards a spectator and were not banned from playing football again.
If I was his manager, would be really lecturing Joey Barton tonight though, however I would still want to keep him at my club and keep him in the team.
I will give a begrudged well done to Man city on winning the title on goal difference and to Man Utd, well you should have scored around 10 goals more, that's all it would have took, Rooney take note,it is what he's paid to do,score goals and for his wages, loads of them too.

Carling Cup is a good trophy to win, although I would rather take a place in the top 4 over that because of the type of player you can attract to play in the CL and money that a club would make on and off the pitch business wise;).

United did well to push City so close and with injuries affecting the squad, obviously United cannot compete with them in terms of money but we had the character and determination, but lacked just that extra bit of quality.
City have got a talented squad and dug deep like United at certain points of the season.
