Thing is tho, i gaurantee he will be lol.

I mean cena has a bloody close to broken arm?
Sandow before he cashes in? Hits this guy with steel chairs on his arm, throws him everywhere. In hindsight cena should be dead? But he gets into the ring and BURIES ANOTHER TALENT AGAIN? WHEN IS WWE GONNA LEARN.
Sandow hit everything he had on a one arm cena? And still lost, BY A ONE ARMED AA? :joker:

I mean? Wwe could of easily let sandow win at the end and cena would of still been over? Because of the fight he gave. Its pointless man.
Cena buries another talent, once again. HHH has giving cena hes golden shovel for keeps.

ruLQDpdQi4A
Here is an inexplicable Dungeons Of Doom ... thing ... from our friends down at World Championship Wrestling that features Hulk Hogan getting tricked into believing all the Hulkamaniacs - which Firefox tries to correct to Kleptomaniacs, imagine that for a faction - are hiding out in a cold cave ["it's not hot, brother"].

Nothing makes sense with this. It was at the time in the early 90's that WCW blew hundreds of thousands producing bizarre straight to video like promos to build matches instead of, say, compelling wrestling television.

It didn't work. The buyrates sucked anyway.

-cnJKR57fis
And sticking with the theme of 'WCW spends money on stupid ****' is Bisch throwing a million quid or so at KISS to perform in a segment that lost viewers - hohoho - as Gene and the gang lip synch their way through a tune and unveil the KISS DEMON played by Dale Torborg. From his Wikipedia :

In 1998, he started to get a push as the MVP but after two matches as the MVP, he was asked to do a KISS character named The Demon. WCW head Eric Bischoff struck a deal with the rock band KISS to create a KISS themed wrestler, “The Demon”, a gimmick that was meant to be the wrestling alter ego of performer Gene Simmons. Torborg originally was told he was the Demon and was abruptly taken out due to Brian Adams having much more experience in the ring. Adams admitted to never feeling comfortable as the character. The gimmick was played twice by Brian Adams, rejected by him without wrestling a single match, and given to Torborg. He was managed by Asya (Christi Wolf), whom he later married. The “Demon” character was originally supposed to be the beginning of a stable called The Warriors of KISS, in which the other original members of the band would have a wrestler representing their look and gimmick.[3] KISS was guaranteed their “Demon” themed wrestler would wrestle a Main Event match with the contract they made with WCW. This was supposed to happen at a special 1999 New Year’s Eve PPV against Vampiro. The PPV and the match were taken off the table, however, after Eric Bischoff lost his position in September 1999. In order to fulfill the contractual obligation, he was booked in a “Special Main Event” match at Superbrawl in early 2000.

Uncharacteristic to “Main Event” matches, it was the fourth match on the card and saw Torborg face The Wall which saw The Wall win with a chokeslam. Because Bischoff lost his position before the character’s wrestling debut, The Demon character got off to a rocky start, losing to Terry Funk in its debut. Bookers at the time wanted to make Eric Bischoff look bad. Torborg contends that the character was hurt because the KISS concert to debut The Demon was one of the lowest rated segments in the history of WCW Nitro up to that point and even though Bischoff believed in the character, others believed it was dead on arrival.[4]

Afterwards, he was known simply as “The Demon” and placed in a stable with Vampiro and The Insane Clown Posse called The Dark Carnival. He later turned against the group and feuded with Vampiro.

Which makes more sense of it than I ever could.

MEANWHILE 8 MILLION VIEWERS GET DRAWN TO A DIFFERENT KIND OF HORROR ...
frAFFiF5XbE
Yes 8 million. Proving WWE could do no wrong at this time. And alright it was on the same broadcast as the - retrospectively - terrible This Is Your Life segment.

Check this mat classic out though. Rodney's got the best scoop slam in the business. Gerald Brisco pulls out some amateur wrestling and seems more over than 90% of today's roster apart from the Uso's who should be given all the belts whilst Monday Night Raw undergoes a name to The Uso Night Delight.

Patterson jobs Rodney with a Boston Crab whilst Brisco keeps Pete Gas entertained with a figure four.

Paul Bearer's secretly delighted because he has some class new PVC clothes for V in the back. The Acolytes help beat his ass to the back looking like Nightwish's security force.

Anyone wanna have a whip around and try and put in a bid for TNA? We could book ourselves at the top of the card at cottage the younger talent.

- Here is the latest report on the potential sale of TNA. Word is that there is a very interested party, and that they are someone fans would know. The potential buyer is also said to have money behind them, but may come off as a surprise buyer to some.

There are also reports that an unnamed celebrity has shown interest, but the name was not given.

While the Carters may not be rushing to sell the company, they are definitely listening to offers.

Given the usual level of TNA reveals it's going to be Gary Busey.

If anyone has yet to check out Smackdown this week I can't recommend it enough. It's become a show with stuff actually happening on it again. Triple H and Cena are both on it, there are a few good matches, and Sandow showed up and officially christened himself pretty much as the guy promising the fans to take down the Cena era.

Maybe losing to the champ in a highly competitive match and going on the tear afterwards is going to be much better for him than having some crap "well he has the briefcase so we might as well give him the belt for a few weeks" run with absolutely no build.

Stu

Segment was so good, his mic skills are easily top 5. Will it lead to Cena just making him look like a bitch for 2 months? Probably, we'll see how the booking goes, him not taking the fall was something!

Stu
03-11-2013, 08:04 PM
Unconfirmed but it's the word on the newz sites.

Billy Corgan already has a full time job. If he's buying it he won't be booking it, that's for sure. The guy's a total indie mark and will probably just fund it whilst he gets someone else in to book it.

I'd be tempted to say J.R. He could make it work from the ground up but then I'm not sure would he be arsed with the headaches.

Russo's blown it, Bischoff and Hogan are gone, they missed their window to get Heyman in. Cornette will not and should not touch it. Bruce Pritchard and Dave Lagana haven't been able to drag it out of the pit it's currently in.

Just give it to the Outsiders or something.

So the Hulkster's reportedly close on signing a deal with the WWE, all but confirming his inevitable WrestleMania XXX appearance.

I'm ecstatic. It's going to be the biggest nostalgia show of all time and should equally highlight both the past, present and future of the company. With the one in the middle presumably looking the worst of the three.

I doubt Hogan would want to share his spotlight with anyone but him and Warrior doing something like battering the Real Americans about would cause the arena to implode and result in Stu's TV being covered in pints and pints of his seminal fluids.

Everyone's been talking about a mini unification tournament as well. I doubt they would have three title matches on the show a la WrestleMania X given how the time constraints have always buried various aspects of it in recent years but you could do some weird combination of Rumble winner/EC winners/whatever that ends up with your WWE champ versus World Champ. Honestly I'd probably buy Orton and Cena again if they took that angle on it.

In continuing to try and predict the card I imagine we'll also get the Triple H Vs. Vince's Representative for control of the company, Undertaker Vs. Brock Lesnar and perhaps let's say Student Vs. Teacher with Bryan Vs. HBK in a "fans get confused over which one to wank for" match.

I'm also practically demanding another gimmick battle royal. 30 Years Of WrestleMania style.

It was dark times for the two months of Khali being the top heel of Smackdown though.
I think 2007 is one of the very few years I hate. SmackDown was brutal that year, you had the Benoit stuff, a really bloated WrestleMania, Triple H coming back and beating King Booker in a dull 10 minute match, Vince lording around with the ECW title, Bobby Lashley with his girly voice and so on.

Royal Rumble, Backlash and No Mercy were the only things I can remember liking.

Im i the only one who thinks big show doesnt suit the role he has right now?

I think it is someones job in the booking meetings every few months to go "when was the last Big Show push?".

Bryan is not imposing enough to go knocking out everyone and it's really not in his nature to drive trucks in to arenas. Show is great in the role on the other hand. He is a friend of Triple H and Steph's too which helps I guess.

The Daniel Bryan experiment failed. He got over organically then they capitalized on it in a very trite, repetitive way. He was made to look like a loser constantly. I don't think he will be able to get any of his heat back at this point.

The ratings and buyrates tanked with him headlining. The fans didn't buy him as an equal to the big boys. His creative castration obviously didn't help but at the end of the day this pasty little kid with a mental beard going against a Cena or Orton ... it's just a novelty. It's not his place on the card. Not in WWE's world, anyway.

He doesn't have the look. He can stay in the upper card but I want the big boys battering each other about for the title. None of this vegan kid of hope nonsense. X-Pac is one of my favorite wrestlers ever but I wouldn't have fantasy booked him to headline WrestleMania with Stone Cold. It's just stupid.

This is where I think wwe lacks the right talent. When you look through the rosters? Who could you confidently say should be doing all those stone cold esque things vs HHH and the rest of his stable? Surely not big show.. Daniel Bryan tried and he done ok for a few weeks but overall it didnt feel right.

Now for survivor series where just gonna see a whack main event, in which big show gets a chance to become the face of the company. I'm done:joker:

Why should anybody be doing Stone Cold esque things? Get your head out of the Attitude Era. The business needs to move forward, not back.

WWE is oozing with great talent and their in ring product is the best in the world right now, which is plain to see. The problem lies with the long term booking and creative manipulation of the talent.

Because thats what they've been trying to force with big show..?
How do you expect people to ever forget about the attitude era if they keep on coming with the same ****ty storylines that were used back in the attitude era.. Only to have gotten a PG makeover. Its boring now, they need to have more imagination and take more risks.

Obviously the writing is stagnant at the minute, I've been saying this for ages, but your infantile solution to everything seems to be to drag things back to the late nineties. That time can never happen again. We are in agreement that the product is stale now but they need to bring this ship forward in time, not back. Most of your posts just revolve around you having a moan about what is on the television before claiming you're never going to watch it again. We get it.

This 'PG era' as has been explained before is all in your head. The age rating of the show has absolutely no impact whatsoever on the quality of it. They can't show blood and tits, two messy aspects of the business that are outdated that you can find in the indies if you really want it that badly. They can still come up with compelling storylines for their characters. It has nothing to do with the rating.

The only thing the rating affords them is the chance to make a mint on advertising and licensing revenue which in turn they can use to bring in a diverse, international blend of fantastic performers and expand on their developmental properties. Fine by me.

They have the tools, they have the talent and they have the platform. All they need to do is bang their heads together and come up with great long term booking strategies. WWE have become great starters but they have no idea how to finish. Their eye is off the ball for whatever reason this year.

Despite popular notion 2002-2011 were fine, fine years full of some great stuff for the most part. Also despite popular notion the Attitude Era was not all glittering gold. Go back and watch a full Raw from 1998. Austin dominates most segments and most of the stars only got a chance to really come out and shine once he had to take a leave of absence in 2000. The cards are full of brutal storylines that are funny in retrospect but I would be embarrassed to be caught watching nowadays [Val Venis gets his knob chopped off = classic wrestling television]. You have D.O.A, L.O.D, Mideon, Viscera, a past his prime Bossman and plenty of other slugs having terrible under card matches.

I adore the Attitude Era, it's my favorite ever time period in wrestling but I'm smart enough to realize that most of that hinges on nostalgia and it's **** that simply would not fly today.

I'm not having a go or anything, brother, I'm just a hopeless wrestling nerd. It's fine to dig all that stuff and hate on the current product but the problems and solutions are far more substantial than the easy gloss "it was great back in the day and everything sucks now" mentality .

Fair enough.
But one question?
What was the point of the big show coming in the arena in a giant truck then?
To forcefully enter as he was barred and to give Daniel Bryan his big "YES!" moment of victory before they ritualistically slaughtered him for about the third PPV in a row at Hell in A Cell.

Stars barged in to arenas every now and then long before the Attitude Era began. I suppose he could have just walked in without the truck but it made for a bigger TV spectacle I guess.

Dude I totally agree. I remember when they gave him the King Of The Ring and he was really hot for awhile then buggered it up failing a wellness test. He was always caught for the steroids which is odd given his build. Must have a hard time putting on muscle.

He was amazing as Eugene's minder as well in 2004. Regal Vs. Triple H was a huge PPV match that never happened :(.

That bit of Raw where Eugene gets to join Evolution and Triple H is giving him T-Shirts and stuff is amazeballs.

Yeah, he was breaking out just as his wellness struck, he was always bloody frustrating in that sense, just another one of those greats that never held the title. I still wish Lawler and Cole would **** off and they put Regal on commentary full time, I know it's a bit.. out there for most having JBL/Regal but I'd be all for it, him and Renee are perf on NXT.

I loved him and Eugene together, I love these eccentric odd gimmicks (when they work) Eugene was always fun to me, yes that segment was golden. Speaking of Regal he was in the Metro today, doing some tour, icr what it was about now, anecdotes on the industry or something, I'd love to just sit around for half an hour with him and hear his stories.

i found 2K14 in Supervalu today for 45 quid, i just couldn't resist. The 30 years of WM mode is alot like the Attitude Era mode from last year but it's good so far
Just up to the WM X ladder match

See, the WWE games for me, they just don't do it anymore, the style, and feel of the game-play is just repetitive and once I do the story-mode I just chuck it.

I'm interested to see what 2K actually do with it on next gen.

Super cena prevails again in a 2 on 1 handicap match
While the 'face of the wwe' randy Orton, doesn't in the same kind of match and instead walks out.

Lmao.

He's a chickenshit heel getting heat so that when he eventually does get whacked it'll mean something more.

This is basically how the wrestling business works.

John Cena is WWE's 'Superman' how many times did Superman get put in place? Cena won't be 'superman' if he's losing to midcarders every week pmsl.

all the signs from that match though still show that WWE are still big on Cesario which is good news, they had him dominate Cena whilst Swagger taped after 0.0001% seconds of the stf being locked in

Stu
12-11-2013, 10:51 PM
Aye. When Cesaro finally swings Cena about like a stick it's going to be magic. Just finished Raw now. It was a good one despite them sending a thin roster to England. There was also a bizarre lack of backstage drama and promos. It was just match after match. Was there a single backstage interview? Did Renee Young just cop off with someone at the airport?

I love how The Shield are very, very slowly showing more individual character with agendas that are harder to discern.

I didn't expect Corporate Kane to be quite so ... Corporate. I thought he'd be the crazy boss from hell. So far it's more like a dull GM with the same humor that was used in his run as the tag champs with Bryan.

The tag division is hot as hell. It's the focal point of the entire show.

Brad getting that massive pop at the start of the show, i'm just waiting for the corporate beat down on the poor guy in the future

Stu

Yeah it's clear as day he's too cool to be a heel for long.

I loved 3MB's awful punk song. It sounded like one of the presets from WWF Attitude or something. What was it? "I don't caaaare and you don't matahhhhh!".

The pick up shot of Old Trafford getting heavily booed was fun too. Michael Cole "The Manchester United played The Arsenal yesterday of course!".

OH AND GUYS, GUYS, I THINK THE WWE READ THIS THREAD, THEY MUST HAVE SEEN MY RANTING...

"Damien Sandow is in line to be a top guy in the WWE, F4WOnline.com is reporting. They are treating him like a top contender, which is why he picked up the easy victory over Kofi Kingston last night on WWE Raw."

It will probably be a non-story, like Shelton Benjamin coming back last year at the Rumble, and Mcintyre getting a new push..

BUT LET ME DREAM OK.

Can never imagine Shane getting old. Always think he stays the same age forever for some reason, never realise he's actually approaching middle age

Stu

I went to look him up because apparently Triple H and Stephanie want him back at WrestleMania. It'd be nice to see him in some capacity but he doesn't really seem to care too much. It was cool that he went and done his own thing once he saw where the whole McMahon/Helmsley thing was heading. He is the CEO of some company that's bringing streaming and PPV and stuff to the Chinese market now which is a big deal. That's a billion people right there and nobody else is going after them.

I don't think they've ever explained the Cessaro thing. It's one of those wonderful pieces or wrestling anti-logic. All I know is the guy is getting over like mad. I love the Real Americans at this point. Cessaro has his awesome swing move, Zeb's like a really loveable throwback and Swagger ... just kind of stands about in the back like an I Am Sam Biff from Back To The Future. At least his not singles wrestling.

The tag matches are amazing at the minute. Real Americans, Shield, Wyatts, Rhodes Brothers, Usos ... 3MB, Prime Time Players bringing up the rear, Khali & Santino and Tonnes Of Funk doing the comedy jobbing so the rest don't have to. It's great.

TONIGHT on the wrestling ...

1. Raw goes country
2. The authority is back from vacation
3. Kane might do something
4. You decide the WWE 2K14 simulation
5. We've got a PPV on Sunday

It won't be a Nashville Raw without J-A-Double-R-E-Double-T, will it? Can't Ravishing Randy Orton sing 'With My Baby Tonight' or something? I'm looking forward to it. Let's get Survivor Series over so we can move on to the always awesome TLC and begin the road to the biggest wrestling show of our time.

Will Jemal lose his **** over the Usos? Will Renee Young finally respond to Black Dagger's pithy advances? Will Karl come back from the dead stinking like the last few pages of a Hunter S. Thompson novel? Will anything of note actually happen?

It's the wrestling. Live, tonight at 1AM.
