I think it's something to do with how many people are involved in each process? So there's only 1 captain on a plane, 2 co-pilots (i.e. the captain and the co-pilot), 4 cabin crew and I have no idea what the fourth thing would be or if I'm on the right track whatsoever...

Y'see, Marc got it right, but Ammi knew why. Cruel world!
I was quite glad to see none of you knew this, because at least I can rest easy knowing none have you have been involved in a pyramid scheme.
http://i.imgur.com/10olWSN.png
Yes, the way this works is that 1 person, the "captain", finds two "co-pilots", who each find two "crew" (making 4), who each find two "passengers" (making 8). Each passenger gives £5'000 to the person who recruited them, which all goes to the captain, who leaves the scheme with £40'000. Then, each co-pilot becomes a captain, each crew member a co-pilot, and each passenger a crew member. The pyramid splits into 2, and each requires 8 new passengers.
All of that doesn't matter though, what matters is that Marc got a legitimate point!
Onto your next sequence:

Can you please explain... what the significance of the number was then? Why 8: passengers?
In a 15 person pyramid scheme, you need 1 Captain, 2 Co-Pilots, 4 Crew, and 8 Passengers to start.

Interrobang, ampersand, 7 in a circle, 6 in a circle
Corresponds to Wingdings 2.
Interrobang is the closing square bracket: ]
Ampersand is the opening square bracket: [
7 in a circle is the letter p
6 in a circle is the letter o
Final character would be 6 in a circle.

Okay, time to move on. Nobody got this one?
You're looking at an interrobang (4 syllables), an ambersand (3 syllables), and a tilde (2 syllables), so what I wanted so, basically, any puncuation mark of one syllable, in this case, I went with a "Dash".

Pip, Ray, Luna, Bear ; characters in Bear and the Big Blue House?
We got one! A point on the board for you, Marc. They are all characters from "Bear in the Big Blue House".
I was about to reveal all the answers now anyway, well done on slipping in under the wire :L
Hidden / Robinson Crusoe / Open / Shadow = Types of Economy
Open, shadow and hidden are fairly straightforward, the Robinson Crusoe economy is a little less well known, it's more of a mental exercise where you have one consumer, one producer and two goods.
Go / Brother / Daughter / Black = Pearl Jam songs
All quite simply songs by the band "Pearl Jam".
This next one I'm surprised nobody got
Yourself / It / Hot Air / Beans = Things you can be "Full of..."
So, at the end of that wall, Marc scores one point, plus a bonus for solving something, meaning as we enter the final round:
Marc: 15
Livia : 12
*Kate*: 5
Zee: 2
GiRTh : 1
Shaun: 1
Everyone Else: 0
Marc is stretching ahead but it's still all to play for as we enter the final round, Missing Vowels. Win a point for a right answer, lose a point for a wrong answer. 20 points available in this round, so, fingers on buzzers, the first group are all...Topics in the Big Brother 2013 sub-forum:

Yeah, but every answer will go "Vowel - Consonant - Vowel - Consonant" or "Consonant - Vowel - Consonant - Vowel" etc.

*MUSICAL FANFARE* (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=PfHB7XutxKk#t=1677)
And as I am up-staged by the music we have reached the end of the quiz. Time to see how everyone has fared after that battle royale of missing vowels.
Just narrowly missing out on a medal position it's Shaun with 9 points, terrible luck, just another point would've got you to third.
Leading us into 3rd place, out bronze medalist is *Kate* with 10 points, a fantastic opening to Missing Vowels got you back into the running, and again, you could've taken a higher position with just a few more points.
Our silver medalist, due to blazing through the earlier rounds, is Livia with a very impressive 12 points, my connections just don't stand a chance against you sometimes, I do need to up my game :L Very well done to Livia.
But the winner of the second game of Only Connect, by sheer might and determination, is Marc with 16 points. Excellent performance by Marc, consistent through all the rounds, some points by skill, some by luck, and some simply by waiting it out (Livia may be bitter), you have taken the crown from GiRTh. 16 seems to be the score to beat these days!
Marc: 16
Livia : 12
*Kate*: 10
Shaun: 9
Zee: 2
GiRTh : 1
Everyone Else: 0
Cuda: -0.5
So, lets accumulate those scores with those from game 1 to see how you've all fared over the course of the past 30 pages!
THE GREAT OC LEADERBOARD
Livia: 24
Shaun: 20
Marc: 18
*Kate*: 17
GiRTh: 17
Zee : 2
Everyone Else: 0
Cuda: -0.5
Smithy: -1
It's safe to say we have some really excellent quizzers amongst your ranks, and Livia may start suffering from "Always a Bridesmaid" syndrome if she doesn't win the next game :L
Speaking of the next game, I'd like to propose a format change, potentially. TiBB does enjoy it's games to be events rather than the sort of passive game I've been using, so I might like to host an OC tournament. In teams of 3, players would play against another team in 2 semi-finals and 1 grand final. This would of course need 12 players (4 teams of 3) and I'd need to get proper permissions and write up 3 new quizzes, but is this something you'd all be interested in? Or do you prefer the format we are currently using?
Of course, I could run the tournament as well as the current thread, having the tournament as a one off, it's all good!
Anywho, it's been a wonderful game. I'm currently in the process of writing more questions (I always am!) so hopefully the wait won't be too long before you get to fire up those neurons once more.
Join us again for Only Connect, the quiz that's so hard, it tells Peggy Mitchell to get out of it's pub. Goodbye
