middle of the night, freezing cold, grab the bottle from under you're pillow and take a few sips.
Nobody drinks out of a hot water bottle, too much hassle and what happens if you don't stick the lid back on properly?

I better put the heating on and make some camomille tea. :D

Why aren't chocolate apples an all year round thing, that's a great way to make sure kids have one of their five a day

I guess because parents want their kids teeth kept intact

in fact the hot water bottle will have a long straw coming from it which will be attached to the side of you're bed so you just need to lean over and sip away.. i'm onto something here

I have to be up early as well, but i'm not sleepy yet.
Total first world problem and I've been asking people for opinions all day because it's more interesting than doing uni work, let's see what TiBB thinks...
My graduation ball is in the summer and although it's a while away, the planning starts around now and people have been talking about it for the last couple of weeks... my course is very small, about 20 people, so the grad ball will be for everyone who does languages at my university and will comprise maybe 200 people, give or take people bringing dates along etc...
On my course there's a boy who has recently started dressing up as a drag queen, and he's announced that he's going to go to the grad ball in drag (drag ball!) which we're all a bit horrified by and we've all said to each other that none of us want to be sat with him if he's going to come to a formal occasion dressed completely inappropriately (not so much the cross dressing, but more the outrageous camp and attention seeking nature of drag) - does that make us phobic and awful or do you think it's fair to not want to be associated with someone who is trying to pull focus onto themselves at an event that's supposed to be about formal attire and a celebration of everyone attending?
My argument is that I would have the same reaction if one of the girls came in a really slutty dress or one of the guys showed up in a tracksuit - it looks out of place, it brings negative attention to that person and looks awful next to everyone else who has dressed up in formal attire for the occasion... but because this concerns an openly gay man dressing up in drag, I'm fairly certain he'll accuse us of being homophobic if we say anything to his face... and he's the kind of person who just wants to do something even more if someone tells him not to do it, so there's no way of dissuading him...
What do you guys think? Anyone got any suggestions on how to approach the situation without hurting his feelings?
Smithy
14-10-2013, 01:11 AM
You're not being homophobic, coming in drag isn't suitable attire for the occasion, he's clearly just attention seeking, if he was actually transgendered and dressed as a woman day to day, obviously it's not a problem.
The whole point of a drag act is to be entertaining not to go to special occasion, dressed as the opposite sex dressed as a woman. I think you should just tell him that drag wouldn't be appropriate, and if he says thats homophobic, you can tell him where to get off, because he's not trans he's just attention seeking

I would say hello if he speaks to you, and then just circulate somewhere else.
It's your day! damn him for trying to take your sparkle the bitch! ;)

Right, they are a complete rip off - but if you buy turkey, cheese, tomato, and red onion toasted sandwich on granary, despite needing to take out a mortgage to pay for it, you will have the greatest lunchtime sandwich of all time.
And I definitely didn't follow you into O'Briens yesterday. I have 3 paid witnesses, I mean witnesses, who will confirm this.

Glenn.
14-10-2013, 12:32 PM
I'm extremely well today. I felt like crap yesterday. Don't know what was wrong with me, I was just blurgh.
Woke up today feeling refreshed. Had a really good night sleep.
..Annie felt like that on Saturday so I think there is a TiBB virus going round atm...you'll be starting to put your Christmas tree up then soon Glenn.....when do you start doing it..?..
Glenn.
14-10-2013, 12:50 PM
I actually decided when I'm putting it up yesterday :joker:
Probably about the 3rd-4th December. I'm dreading it because I get annoyed with it. I'll end up throwing around the room in a rage like my Nan does sometimes
I had really bad heartburn yesterday or something. Felt really bad. I won't go into detail but I think there was something wrong in my stomach yesterday :bored:
It must of been a bug or something because I woke up today refreshed.
..haha, do you get annoyed with it because you're never happy with it then, Glenn..like a perfectionist..?...did you buy any Disney Christmas stuff when you were there..?...
..heartburn feeling is horrible, I think I've only ever had it a few times in my life but it was very uncomfortable... maybe you just ate something that didn't agree with you...
AnnieK
14-10-2013, 01:57 PM
I can't wait to put my Christmas tree up although I have a horrible feeling that it will be trashed on a daily basis by these naughty cats.
...aww, I they still being a bit destructive, Annie...?...
Niamh.
14-10-2013, 02:03 PM
lol Annie, I'm dreading the Christmas tree going up as well for that reason and Sebastian is so big and still growing
..I've never had a cat and didn't realise they were such a 'Christmas problem'...I guess they pull it over and you have to keep putting it back up..?..
Glenn.
14-10-2013, 02:09 PM

Last year I sort of rushed the tree because I wanted it up and everyday I would rearrange something on it. I would walk into the room and look at it directly and there would be something I didn't like so I would move it. A rogue bauble as I call it
I didn't get anything Christmassy from Disney this time. I have so much anyway and I'm always weary of buying stuff because it's always heavy and the tree can't support it.
I've decided to take my time with the tree this year.
It was definitely something I ate, and even more so, something that refused to digest at a normal rate. I googled it because I was, without sounding disgusting, burping and it smelt of rotten egg. Sulphur burps apparently. I read that honey lemon and warm water would help so I had some last night and thankfully they're gone. It was brought on because there was something in my stomach refusing to digest and that's what happens apparently. It was disgusting.
Niamh.

Well this will be my first Christmas with a cat, usually they start to calm down when they get older but Maine Coons keep their playful kitteness more than other cats I'm told plus they're one of the largest breeds of cats, he's almost 10lbs already and he'll keep growing till he's 3/4 years so that's not a good combination
Jesus.
14-10-2013, 02:14 PM
I'm sure a cat with 3 degress will understand not to destry the tree. It's Annie's Mancunian drug dealing cats that you need to watch out for.
They'll be trying to snort snow off the doorstep.

I have to decorate before I put any decs up.
Just a freshen up. I had my entire house rewired last year and in had horrible white trunking where they put new wires because they didn't want to bury them :bored:
I dug the walls out and buried them so I've got to paint now. But I decided to give the entire house a lick of paint. And the skirting boards.
I've gotta order a new sofa too because the ones I have I sink into.
Plus I've got to have my carpets cleaned too. It's neverending

..ahh, yeah it doesn't sound good, your body objecting to something then Glenn but the honey/lemon worked do you can take it if it happens again...

The dogs are fine with him, Curly the older, bigger dog I was a bit worried about cos he's very much a hunting kind of a dog, as in he likes to chase rabbits and rats and whatever else he comes across in the fields but he just ignores the cat and has done since he got here. The night before last he was lying down on the floor asleep and the cat went over to him and started to clean his tail  He just carried on ignoring him though. She was fine, I think it helped her to spend some time with her grand dad too, she spent alot of time on her own with him over there going on walks and going shopping with him etc. Also, he gave her a few things belonging to her grand mother so that's nice for her

..aww it was nice having the things belonging to her gran, that would have really helped and spending time with him, not only helping her but feeling as though she wasn't 'helpless' by being there for him to talk to as well..I often think in that situation that grandchildren can be more what's needed emotionally while children help with practical things and arranging what needs to be done...

Yeah, definitely, kids are so innocently honest aren't they? That can be refreshing in s**ty times
..yeah because they just ask things and are quite open about it whereas we sometimes wait for the bereaved person to talk, which isn't often the right thing..when my dad died I remember people avoiding talking about him, I guess because they didn't want to upset me and that was thoughtful but it felt like talking about him was the only way I could hold on to him and if I didn't then it was like he never existed, if that makes sense....
