The national police knew this guy kidnapped girls and had even been sent a letter by the guy's mother telling them that he had two girls captive and they didn't arrest him... two little 8 year old girls were being kept prisoner in his basement in a little cell he'd made, regularly raped and eventually murdered and buried 15 feet under the ground... and the police knew, they were just holding onto the information to obstruct the local police's investigation because they were playing the long game with him. What the actual ****, so messed up. People rioted in Belgium when the truth came out, no wonder! The guy killed four girls and the local police managed to rescue the next two he'd kidnapped but bloody hell... four needless murders... the next two he kidnapped he buried alive! Awful, awful man, so upsetting :(

It's certainly hinted at in the video, that they tried to emphasise that Dutroux was acting on his own (well, he had accomplices but they argued that he wasn't part of a wider paedophile ring) and a lot of evidence went missing, they said quite a lot of witnesses died before they could testify at the trial (!) which is pretty suspicious... the whole thing could be smothered in cover ups at worst and at best was just a really badly handled investigation and trial. Justice was never really served for the families of the four girls who died.

It's at the stage where friends and family members seem to have the kids more often than their parents do and they have a history of taking drugs before. D:

Most likely speed... it's majorly addictive... it's not cocaine.. speed is amphetamine... usually in a powder.. and a few grams can keep you awake all night.. We used to do it every weekend, but a guy I knew started doing it all the time and got himself into a right state..
