Okay, I tend to crap on the show nowadays but the last 10 minutes of that episode were ****ing brilliant :amazed: :clap1:

Noel getting his head chopped off (and them actually showing his head and body)!!!, can't believe they went there but good on them :o :laugh: (even if his head being cut so cleanly off like that is unlikely :laugh:)

Spencer being Mary's daughter was a nice surprising reveal since Marlene had said they weren't revealing the second child until next year.

One drawback for what was otherwise a really satisfying midseason finale ... why does Marlene seem to think cheating on someone is so romantic? :joker:

What can you reveal about how Wren returns and his role now that he’s not with Melissa and he’s his own agent coming back to Rosewood?

He comes back in a very surprising way; in a way that I don’t think the character Wren was expecting to come back. Thus, his presence is a mystery to us. It’s really not going to be until the final episode of the series that an explanation for what he’s doing here is revealed and it will be a whopper. It will not be what you see coming. He doesn’t really have a lot of screen time. We see him just once or twice in the second half of the season, and then we see him in a very surprising exchange in the final episode, which will be the moment that really causes people’s heads to explode in a positive way. He’s part of the ultimate final twist in the final episode.

But if I'm being honest, my hope for him being A has waned slightly more recently after thinking about that Season 4 episode where they made him all suspicious all of a sudden.

In a mystery, with the character who's eventually revealed to be the bad guy you'd usually make them suspicious at one point (like with everyone else) but then offer an explanation to make them seem innocent so it's still somewhat surprising when the reveal comes. I really don't like how they had that episode where he was being all sneaky and sabotaging Ashley Marin's case and having mysterious phone calls and then never tried to explain it away, they just carried on like it never happened so now even if it is him, a part of me will actually be disappointed.

And also the fact that they've flat out said he's gonna have a big role in the finale, if they've a shred of sense they wouldn't say that about who actually does end up being AD :laugh:

So yeah, I'm sort of falling off the Wren is A train atm (surprisingly even to me :whistle:). I think Melissa would be my top choice (and I hope Marlene saying she's not sure if Torrey can appear in 7B is a bluff for this but probably not </3).

I think this basically means that it's someone identical twin or someone with personality disorder. Or perhaps someones who was "dead" and is back as someone else, like a new identity (A.D = After Death).

I'm way past the point of finding the idea of Wren being involved satisfying. I know that was my big hope leading up to the Charles reveal but I'm over that phase now and at this point I'd definitely be disappointed. Especially since they decided to reveal that he's involved in a big twist in the finale. Why even tell us that? It better be minor since they saw fit to spoil it :idc:

As for the Spencer twin theory, there's an idea going round that Spencer in Hanna's dream when she was kidnapped was the twin and it wasn't a dream at all. That would make sense since she mentioned AD but Hanna had no way of knowing about that because the AD texts didn't start until after she was kidnapped (and for some reason she hasn't wondered about this so it's just as likely to be another plot hole :laugh:).

I do think Spencer's twin as AD will happen though. I'd be in two minds if it does. I love the concept and Troian would kill it, but if the only times we've actually seen the twin are with Hanna at the start of the season and with Wren in this last episode, it would bug me a little that AD was someone who wasn't around longer (even if the actress was). I'd feel better about it if we had seen the twin in earlier seasons without knowing it but I can't see how that would be worked in.

Tbh I'm still holding out for Melissa but I won't get my hopes up :laugh:

I loved that Charlotte was planning on going after the girls again and that her whole remorse thing was just an act.

So after watching the finale promo, I'm more sure than ever that AD is Spencer's twin (in cahoots with Wren). It shows Mona punching "Spencer", I bet that's the twin. I wouldn't hate it but my inner MelissA fanboy will be forever disappointed :laugh:

Tbh if I hadn't read the Spencer twin theories online I'd never have thought of it myself but now I can't stop seeing the clues. Like in episode 18 when "Spencer" visited Toby and he said something about "that's not like the Spencer I know". I just don't see it not happening at this point.

Like I've said, I'm still not completely crazy about the twin idea if the first time we actually saw her was the season 7 premiere (stuff like that always feels like a cheat in mysteries so I'd hope we've seen her unknowingly earlier than that) but if they're doing it, this would be a satisfying way to link it into the random inclusion of Sara Harvey and would be some really impressive foreshadowing (even retroactively if it wasn't planned back when Avery was first mentioned).

- This A took over the game in Season 6B (time jump) and has nothing to do with Mona/Cece
- NAT club has nothing to do with AD

- watch the last 10 episodes for clues
- We will discover AD identity before the liars
- Toby has changed a lot

I've given up on hoping for Melissa at this point, especially since Marlene has said the clues are pretty much limited to these last 10 episodes and I don't think Melissa has been referenced much at all in 7B, while there's been a lot of Spencer stuff which just makes me think even more it's her twin. By "nothing to do with CeCe", I think that just means they didn't become AD until after she died because people have been wondering if AD had been active during Mona or Charlotte's times as A too. I still think their motive was very much about exposing her killer.

Oh and how messy that the time jump scene at the end of "Game Over, Charles" was just a zombie nightmare :joker: Marlene's admitted she had no idea what that was going to be when they first did that scene too, which probably surprises nobody.

They said that we should know who AD is by now so this suggests that they've been on-screen. The only way it could be Spencers twin is if he/she has been shown subliminally throughout the season, but would it still be Avery? If this isn't the case then it's definitely Ezra for the following reasons:

Stealing Emily's eggs
Generally messing up Alison's life even more
Breaking Spencers family apart (again)
Kidnapping and torturing Hannah
Aria.. nothing, apart from threatening her with a police report and letting her off scot-free and allowing her to leave the game?! No way

AND

I will think more shady things happened the night Charlotte was killed, it was confirmed a few of the girls left the hotel that night but I want detailed receipts. Also Hannah's mum was quick to get rid of the evidence :suspect:

Melissa being AD would be good but it would make no sense to withdraw Aria from the game so she can sabotage her own parents - causing her mum to step down as state president.

There's so many unanswered questions D: I still want more information on the NAT club, I read that the term "NAT" stands for "we see all" or something along those lines

Honestly thought it was a really good episode, (aside from the first half which was total shipper orientated) much better motive than Charlotte, more believable, less plot holes cause it'd only been going on for a season and a half, probably cause they took a lot of inspiration from the books I'm guessing too

Loved it! Agree with Smithy about the first half, really bored me in parts.

Absolutely adored the reveal, it was quite creepy and surreal. At least it made sense and the clues were there, although the story with Alex was very rushed and they perhaps could have had some fun with it, it would had been interested had she been there since the very beginning, like the person in charge of the A team.

The thing with Wren was a nice addition although was it necessary to kill him without much explanation? I liked how Alex and Charlotte knew each other, the flashbacks were a good addition.

I really didn't expect it to be Spencer's twin as the episode got going, the Mellisa in the black hood was cool, shame we didn't see more of her.

Loved the bunker/secret underground dollhouse sort of thing that Spencer was locked in, reminded me a lot of the dollhouse.

Overall it was good, although I would have loved it if Alex was Bethany as there definitely felt there was more to Bethany/Charles' story. They should have left more time for the reveal and aftermath though considering they had 90 mins. The end scene with Mona was clever, I liked it.

Looking back though I'm glad it was quite a simple motive/story behind it, made it easier to understand.

I think it's obvious that there's going to be a spin off with Addison and her girls, with the original liars making appearances etc.

I'm annoyed over the melissa mask because i got excited because i thought A.D was Melissa but it wasn't </3 but when Mona said A.D wanted her to wear the Melissa mask i kind of knew spencer has a twin and was A.D or Wren was A.D. It had to be spencer related since shes been the main focus

The reveal was creepy so i liked it.

With Alex Drake, I always really liked the whole concept of a Spencer twin but just never liked the idea of AD being someone we hadn't even met before season 7, that's such a stupid copout. Like, the entire second half of season 6 when we were supposed to be wondering who the new A was and it's someone we hadn't even met yet. It's Black Widow all over again. Also, I wish they went down the Avery route instead.

But yeah, on paper I really like the idea (stuff like Spencer thinking she's looking at her reflection and then Alex suddenly dropping her hand worked really well), I just wish we'd seen the twin earlier because it just ended up being a more flashy version of "oh this new character did it".

I like how we still don't have an answer to the flashback of Melissa and CeCe talking (actually there's probably a mountain of loose ends but that's the most annoying one for me).

Yeah, I won't watch another of Marlene's shows. The vast majority of the mysteries in this show either had anticlimactic reveals or weren't answered at all, probably because they tried to shove too much in without actually knowing where they were taking it 99% of the time.

Honestly at first I didn't fully let myself think Melissa was AD (but it did definitely get my hopes up), but part of me thought maybe it was another red herring and Melissa worked out the twin and was sneaking around to expose her. Either way I got excited that Melissa was playing a big role in the reveal ... and then she didn't. MARLENE YOU COW.

But yeah, it's weird because on one hand I do like the stuff with Alex etc, it just would have been so much better if she wasn't such a newly introduced character. Even if they did a massive retcon (come on this show loves those) and acted like she'd posed as Spencer in earlier seasons now and again even if that wasn't the plan at the time.

I enjoyed the finale. I'm happy with the AD reveal, would of been better if it was a character we were already aware of. The early scenes of Melissa being AD had me SHOOK but I knew there was more to it as they wouldn't just reveal AD like 15 mins into the finale :laugh:

Loved the dollhouse element and garden, Alex was funny, obviously a bit OTT (you can tell that she was coached by an American to portray a British person)

There was a lot of focus on everyone's relationships, I would of liked a bit more thriller elements to it seeing as it's the last episode

Someone should of died! I'm guesing everyone's money was on Ezra, when he fell and hit his head on a rock I think he should of died then as he already had a previous blow to the head (lucy beale tea)

All in all I enjoyed it, just feels strange how it's over for good. I loved the ending, I do hope the Adison story continues (she's a good actress) and Mona being A again :laugh:

They should of put Mona in the opening titles for the last episode :(

The ending was full on hilarious. We watched it a couple of nights ago on Netflix (gave up about 4 episodes into the final season when it was airing, decided to plough through to the end last week).

Spencer going full on dick van dyke :joker: :joker:. Normally I don't like daft endings but it was so slapstick I quite enjoyed it.

Plus Ezra getting whacked on the side of the head, then hitting the other side of his head. Classic physical comedy.

Nah that's far too dark for Pretty Little Liars... it's basically a silly / soap opera type of show. There were ZERO deaths with any emotional impact, from the very start. Throwing one in at the last second would have been totally out of place.

It was an enjoyable show, season 7 was one of the best imo - the board game idea was brilliant. Shame it ended on such a shoddy finale.
