I think production might have pulled a Grodhog to keep Spencer in as long as possible. He was spared over Shirin, then a tribe swap happened immediately before he was about to be picked off next, then immediately after his Bayon tribe loses for the first time, another tribe swap happens, and then he is nearly booted for the 3rd time, and immediately after this the merge happens and he's reunited with most of the people he has good connections with.

I seriously hope he doesn't win. You can so tell he'll use all that in his jury plea if he does make the final 3 and it's gonna be vomit inducing :yuk:

Abi-Maria, Peih-Gee and Kelley Wentworth are standing out as clear favoruites for me. Esp Abi-Maria, she's hilarious, Peih-Gee talking about her when she was right near her on the beach was hilarious . I'm sad that Shirin got voted off in the last Tribal Council, I would much rather Spencer have gone he's really annoying me. The Purple Edit

Ironically, the most interesting thing about Wiglesworth is her lackluster edit. There has been lots of debate over why the original Survivor: Borneo runner-up received such a poor edit, and everyone has a theory.

In an interview with ET Canada, former winner and three-time Survivor player Parvati Shallow said that she believed Wiglesworth received such a bad edit because she wasn’t being cooperative with Probst and the producers. She wouldn’t play up to the Second Chance theme in the way they wanted her to; refusing to compare her experiences in Borneo to Cambodia. “I don’t live in the past, I live in the present.” Shallow says that the producers picked Wiglesworth to be the poster girl for Survivor: Second Chance and she wouldn’t play the character they wanted – so she was punished in the edit.

Is that true? Partly. It has been documented that Wiglesworth wasn’t providing Probst with interesting sound-bites during the first three days of the season. Various members of the press who were on location and present at the first tribal council, spoke of how Probst laid into Wiglesworth for giving poor, evasive answers.

So did production punish her because she didn’t fit the role they had designed for her?

At the challenge, when the three remaining castaways went on one foot, and Wiglesworth was unable to make the transition, instead of calling her out, Jeff mistakenly called Abi out, who then fell in the water. Because of that mistake, Joe had to jump too, so that the two of them could start over.

At tribal council, we saw a small glimpse of Abi and Joe bickering back and forth, however, this apparently went on for much longer and got far more personal.

A lot of the big reaction shots from tribal – the excited faces/the jury laughter – didn’t actually happen when Joe was voted out like the episode presented. Those reactions were in response to the argument between Joe and Abi. It was a continuation from the previous week’s tribal council, in which Joe had apparently told Abi that nobody liked her, and a similar argument took place at this week’s tribal. Joe was trying to tell Abi how she could play a better game and she responded “I’m not going to take advice from a 26 year old who sleeps on his parent’s couch.” That is the line that caused most of those big reactions, and probably why in an interview with ET Canada, Joe said after tribal council he “…wanted to punch Abi in the face.”

Idk, I can't say there's anything wrong with what he's saying until we see the actual final. I think most of the problem lies in the editing, not the way the game is being played. Honestly don't think this season has been bad, but definitely not one of the best or 'historic'.

There's no need to coach anyone on how to play the game in order to make good TV because at its core, the concept of Survivor is already good TV. If the show become a bunch of camera-aware people doing things in order to be remembered, which is what is clearly being advocated for, all of that stuff will come at the price of character development and legitimate conflict. Crazy stuff will happen, sure, but it'll happen to a bunch of random nobodies I won't have any inclination to give a **** about. Production doesn't want real people anymore, they want catchphrases and hashtags and prepackaged storylines that tie into the arbitrary theme.

Like, it's been a long time coming because this has clearly been a distinct tonal shift in the show over the past few years, but this is the season that somehow Probst has gotten a bunch of people to buy into his vision of what the show should be, and his vision is complete **** imo.

It'll be karma when she ends up being the goat after all her talk about getting the goats out or whatever.

The biggest contradiction of them all to me was episode 2. When it came down to the Shirin vs. Spencer stuff, it seemed like the moral of the story they were trying to push was that the social game is so important and being a gamebot isn't gonna get you far.
