Excluding twists, I would say usually 6 hours to half a day.

How long does tribe vs. tribe vs. tribe last?

Depends. If they are planning a tribe shuffle (dismantling the tribes and creating them again), 3 more eliminations. With or without it, at least 1 elimination, since they usually want the numbers to be even when they go back to the 2 tribe system meaning they randomly draw rocks or color bullet thingys or do a schoolyard pick and determine the rosters of two new tribes, meaning three tribes will become two.

How do the competitions work when that ends?

Two tribes battle against each other for rewards and/or immunity. The winner gets a reward/win immunity and the losers lose reward/lose immunity and have to go to the tribal council to vote someone out.

The tribes usually merge (become one tribe) when 9-12 contestants are left in the game.
After that you win and lose the rewards (the winner however can bring 1-3 people along with him/her to enjoy the reward) and immunities individually.

I know Survivor has a jury too but how does it compare to the BB one / how many are in it?

Not much difference, except the questioning is a longer and there are three instead of two to question.

After the jury stage begins, and the jurors begin to get voted of, The jurors go to a Ponderosa, a production camp complex, which is located somewhere in the same region. After they have come to terms with the loss and themselves after the competition, they get weighed, then they get escorted to their rooms where they can clean themselves and rest afterwards. Then they eat, talk with crew or talk/fight the other jurors and then hang out and rest until it´s time to go and attend the next tribal.

In Survivor, the jury members attend every tribal after the jury stage has begun and "gather information" for the final tribal.

I've heard a lot about the immunity idol(s) but how many in a season and how exactly do they work?

I know it basically saves them but then what happens after that if they were supposed to go.. next highest number of votes is out?

Since they were introduced usually 2-4 per season at the start and one on each camp. Usual rule is when an idol is being used it gets a new one gets hidden for someone else (very often nowadays it´s the same guy/girl though)

When you find an idol, you can make yourself or somebody you want immune, before the votes are announced. (There has however been an idol that made it possible to make yourself or someone else immune ie: null your votes after the votes were announced.)

You´re correct, if you succeed in using the idol, ie: you predicted correctly that you were the target and got the most amount of votes, the next one with highest amount of votes gets voted out.

If you like Big Brother you should probably like Survivor. I love both shows but do prefer Survivor. It's similar concepts really just ones in a house and the other is on a beach.

They vote right after the tie has been seen, they can how talk if they want or signal for who to vote for there is no rules against this, this is for all votes, in a few season they have said right before the vote to there tribe vote this person.

Rewatched the premiere and my thoughts didn't really change too much. Beauty is my fave tribe rn, I hate Brawn especially that the only person I liked just got voted out, and Brain is really boring except for Debbie. My rewatch really did Aubry some good because I was sleeping on her during the live airing but I liked her a lot more the second time around. I still think Alecia was pretty boring for someone so pivotal this episode.

This episode was pretty ****ing fantastic? It was nonstop laughs from start to finish and the focus was entirely on the three best people and the boot who had a fun demise. Not to mention that it was entirely character-centered as opposed to an obnoxious strategy-based episode like Cambodia.

I can't get over Jenny at tribal council :p I started to like her, but I'm glad her foot in mouth syndrome caused Alecia's safety. Of course Tai is actually making Caleb bearable to watch, shows how fantastic he is. I'm really liking the dynamics in each tribe tbh, it's quite a strong cast.

yeah, all three of the Beauties got good edits in the premiere and they didn't really need to be shown last night because they won the IC. Beauty's the best tribe rn anyway so who cares, they'll get their time to shine soon.

This has been a really solid start to the season. The first ep layed the groundwork on introucing the characters, and this second ep has built on it. Has been kind of refreshing after coming off such a strategy heavy previous season, and the fact that the edit really is being shared around with virtually the entire cast really is a throw back to the way it was done, wayyy back when. Allowing the season to be crafted by the characters.

As for the specifics of this ep...

Beauty really seem to be having an absolute ball. And good on them. Som fun characters there, Tai & Caleb's bromance is hilarious. This really seems to be such a very different side of Caleb than the one we saw in BB17. Hopefully they can team up and get that HII, which from the way it was edited, seems this season is going to take more than one person in order to get it, but hiding the key (for the box where the HII is) wayyy up there in the trees it's clearly going to disadvantage some players ever having a chance at gaining these. At least it is more challenging than the way ot was for about 4 or 5 years, where they were pretty damned easy to find.

Brains are not exactly exhibiting their best qualities around camp. For one, they won the full on, super dooper fire kit, yet without kero they can't make a fire? Like, wtf? The kero/matches should have been put aside, because you know, sure as ****, at some point it is going to bucket down, and good luck making/keeping a fire when it is pissing down. It's for those times, when the wood is damp etc that they should have been keeping those for, and use the flint for a fire here.

Oh, and yeah, I know that Rudy didnt bother to drink boiled water in Borneo and ASS and got through OK. On the flip side of this, Bruce in EI was not bothering to drink and just filtered through a T-shirt, ll... and yeah, he got pretty sick and had to be pulled from the game. So is it worth the risk, drawing water from a stagnant well, wouldn't be the worst idea to boil it? I mean, even if you are pretty sure it will be OK, but if it is the difference between pretty sure its safe and being 100% sure, then using your head the natural course of action is to go with 100% certain, so why not boil it?

Debbie is Coach 1.0 re-incarnated. Some may be amused by it, but personally wasnt ever a huge Coach fan in any of his seasons, let alone his first time out, but that is what Debbie is reminding me of. Knows everytrhing, talks, talks talks, but doesn't actually do anything.

The challenge was a pretty good one also, and on the surface one that the brawn tribe would have really fancied their chances at.

Which brings us to Brawn. WTF? Cydney is like the only one on that tribe with her head on straight. The others are looney tunes. They started the ep off by pretty much them all denegrating Alecia, then it seems like the editors were dumping more on top of her with the elapsed time to make the fire. But the girl persevered, so kudos for that. And when the opportunity came at TC, she did well there, leting others bury themselves. But make no mistake, after the way that this tribe has been voting, acting and treating Alecia, you know sure as sh*t she will bail on them the first chance she gets and it is their own fault entirely, for ostracizing her to such an extent, but seriously, to have 2 such insane TC's to start the season has been pretty awesome!

Hopefully loads more like it to come.

Watching the episode now:

- Can't believe Caleb is redeeming himself so well from BB16. Literally going from a dreadful all-male alliance to helping the females (or so it seems)

- Debbie is great this episode and it's only 10 mins in. The way she looked at Aubry when she passively tried to make an alliance :p

- Tai is beautiful. I hope him and Kimmi form a Chicken sanctuary at one point in the near future.
