Yeah, but the thing I think of is, this producer is inevitably going to replace his axings with newbies anyway. So it's not as though he's thinning the ranks to focus on the characters already with some development. He'll start from scratch with some others too.

It's a bit lazy though don't you think? If a character hasn't been developed that much, take it as an opportunity to basically create them the way you want rather than just getting rid of them without a second thought. They are actually probably the most natural characters in the show. I know Les can be eccentric but he is believably so.

Like, everyone loves Sharon's campness or Ronnie's villainy but as great as they can be, they're clearly OTT characters in a soap. Whereas, by comparison, characters like Pam and Les seem so real and natural with one another.

He's only there for a couple of episodes. And part of me is starting to think it's going to be a surprise exit for Whitney that leads to Lee's exit too.
