There's so many houses that we haven't seen for ages, come to think of it.
I randomly thought of Tanya and Greg's old place, that looked nice. And Bradley & Stacey's love-nest that Bradley trashed.

1 year ago as that was when Max was arrested. :smug:
Bye at me missing this whole discussion so vital points and trivia were obviously missed
Mick has actually been an asset to the show, I think. Although he's very over-exposed. Someone on DS keeps a note of the appearances and he's had the most three years in a row...
I hope when Kellie goes on a break he fades into the background a bit
You know he won't and he'll be shoehorned into everybody else's story lines.0
Actually i forgot there's a new producer - he might be rested after all.

Same. Can see a return being announced as soon as Vincent gets a big story.
I don't mind that TBH. She'd work well as a flitting in and out type character to bring realism - like Big Mo, Jean, Aunt Sal, Belinda for a time etc

Linda being so excited at pinning the banana on her son. :umm2:

Belinda's friend getting kicked in the face by a stripper and Stacey's 'Oh no that's awful :( ' made me HOWL
The theory on DS is that-
Whitney is going to lose the baby sometime between now and Christmas, Lee will spiral back into depression and end up committing suicide over the Christmas episodes. I know people want gritty EastEnders back but I really don't think they'd broadcast a nice young guy killing himself over the festive period?
Or that he deliberately steps out in front of Kim's car when she learns to drive and that the Kim driving story line and the plastic Lee on the minibus bonnet is foreshadowing.
Marsh.
09-10-2016, 06:54 PM

Will.
09-10-2016, 07:03 PM
Welp if that happens.
It does fit in with Shona's comments.
Lee's death would help to progress Whitney as a character and give her stories as she copes with her grief, Linda would have a character led reason to leave The Square than just the normal 'oh Elaine took a tumble she needs help running her pub', Mick would have to cope with the death of his eldest son, Johnny coping with the death of his brother and the fact he's now the only Carter son and if Kim is included as well then her guilt and possible prosecution - people not believing that Lee killed himself and she didn't mean to do it (this is more DS speculation but I don't think they'd trivialise suicide with making everyone think Kim killed Lee)
Ashley.

Kim's supposed to have a big storyline too, so if Lee was to commit suicide by walking into the road, I guess it'd be interesting to see how she handles it.
Will.
09-10-2016, 07:07 PM
Didn't Lee originally suggest that Whitney should get an abortion :shame:
Will.
09-10-2016, 07:09 PM
Johnny is meant to have a huge storyline soon.
“I’m told there are some big plans and I’m excited to see them – but they’re keeping a lot under wraps!” he said teasing the new storyline but admitted he hadn’t yet been told what was in store for him.
“EastEnders has always had hard-hitting stories, so I’d like to get something that speaks to people,” he added to DigitalSpy.
Ashley.
09-10-2016, 07:10 PM
To be honest Lee was supposed to commit suicide last year but they cancelled the storyline.
Marsh.
09-10-2016, 07:11 PM

I think another family needs to have a big storyline at Christmas/New Year. The Carters have been the centre of it all over the last few years.

Especially if Ronnie and Roxy will end up both killed a week later.
Firewire

I stand by my comments from 2014 but I think Lee being killed in action would've been a fantastic storyline and something that isn't seen much (or at all?) in soaps.

I reckon the Mitchells will get the Christmas storyline this year. It was the Beales/Brannings last year and the Carters the year before. Plus this new producer seems to like the Mitchells (despite killing two of them off)

I agree. It also has made their interactions feel awkward ever since I feel. It hasn't added a new dynamic either - Shirley would still be treated the same by the family if she was the aunt and not the grandmother.

If I was SOC I'd have her hit her head and suddenly remember the life she had between 2006 and 2012 and dump Phil's dead liver on the floor.
Most of the main players of the past few years need resting. Put Phil, Sharon, Ian, Jane, Mick, Linda, Shirley and Ben on the back burner and introduce us to some new characters for a bit.
At least they've stopped trying to make Sharon the new mash up of Pat/Peggy/Pauline mess they'd been writing her as for years.

So did everyone else.
Another exhausted character. Wonder who he's shagging this time.

Oh and there's a mention of Peter next week... which kind of relates to those pictures we saw of Thomas Law around 5 or 6 weeks ago
Not Peter having a two-year muscle phase before returning to stick form
Kirsty coming back would be good. They wasted her last time.
Marsh.

No thanks. I got sick of the sight of her bed head.
Not Peter going from twink to hunk to twink.
Not Kim to run him over on one of her lessons
why did this make me scream dfgff
OMG when they just left her in bed for a year

Kim takes her first driving test in the christmas week and runs over a Lee? and in the new year period she gets on her second test and drives over Ronnie and Roxy?

That hospital set was a bit cramped. Danny Dyer could barely squeeze through that door.
Marsh.

Mess for Whitney though. With Lee's exit and no Carter baby she's left as a floater with no character group/family again. Might as well have axed her too.
Marsh.
11-10-2016, 10:50 PM
Apart from his axing of the Coker's, this is SOC's first misstep IMO. :(

11-10-2016, 10:54 PM
I really hope Lee does not commit suicide. The Carter's were such a breath of fresh air when they first joined. I feel after the whole ordeal with Dean (among orher storylines), that scenario would be played out way too soon.

But in all honesty I think Whitney's time is running out, she's been on a loose end for years. She'll be gone within a month after Lee, I expect.
Marsh.
11-10-2016, 11:33 PM
Yeah, I bet they're holding back on announcing her exit if Lee's is a death or whatever.

Whitney has nothing in the square anymore. Lily is her only family and she's never seen with her.
I like Shona as well and I think she's a great actress when given the material but Whitney's time is up.
Marsh.
11-10-2016, 11:47 PM
It's a shame though. Bianca leaving was the perfect time for Whitney to to stand out on her own like Stacey did once most of the Slater's were gone originally.
She could still be apart of the Carter unit when Lee goes or if he dies.
Firewire
12-10-2016, 05:02 PM
They threw Cora out so I doubt they'd care for her, especially now she has no baby
I guess.
That's a big shame.
But I remember Shona saying Lee's axing was to progress her character so idk. Maybe something is coming out of this for Whitney.

I don't know why they were axed. They're the stars of SOC's work so far.
It's so strange
He axed them because they were pretty much the whole image of DTC's era but Sean has actually made them even better than they were under Dom's reign.
I'm glad he has made them into something better than worse, though.
Hopefully he sees a need for them to return in the future and brings them back.
Surely the Carters should be the ones to go it he's trying to get rid of DTC's era. Pam is good as an agony aunt type character. It would be nice to see her visit again in the future.
Eastenders has been crying out for characters like the Cokers for years. It's weird, they fit perfectly into this back to basics era SOC is trying to establish
Firewire
14-10-2016, 01:24 PM
It's the fact that Pam can walk through the square and have a conversation with every single person and it's amazing to watch no matter how small it is.
