Not at all, it was a random, unrealistic and cheap freak accident that was neither earned nor needed. The writers couldn't think up of a good ending so they went for the shock value instead of doing justice to two mainstay characters.

The problem with tonight's episode was that it was too fast paced for an aftermath episode. They seemed to be rushing it, making sure everyone in the square found out when the only reactions we really cared about were the Mitchell's. A lot of time was wasted in tonight's episode on trivial things that could have been saved for a later date, time that could have been spent on characters who mattered (such as those close to Ronnie and Roxy).
