It does but a lot of the time the storylines are fine, it's the characters that are useless.

So, currently the Sharon/Keanu stuff would be so much better if Keanu was a good character. But he's so uninteresting. Imagine the Dennis Rickman plot but without Dennis Rickman, with a wet lettuce of a character, it wouldn't work.

Similarly, this stuff with Louise being involved in it is subjectively a good idea. But Louise is so horribly written and acted it doesn't work.

So Kate Oates is not making most of the decisions. Much like John Yorke the last 18 months, she'll just be approving storylines, casting new characters, etc. She won't be very hands on with running the show.

Lola wasn’t worth coming back though, she’s been pretty unremarkable so far.

Ruby has been my favourite returnee for years, just proves that bringing back ‘big names’ and ‘fan favourites’ doesn’t always work it’s sometimes the ones you least expect.
