It’s a penalty. What was there to look at? Lewin taps It into an empty net if Trent doesn’t block him when on the floor there.
He trip over his own foot before galling over Trent

Admire the balls of the ref taking a 5 second look at the monitor and sticking with his decision, normally feels inevitable that they'll stare at the same replays for ten minutes then change their mind

For me Trent has slid in and failed to make the tackle, by having done so he is then obstructing DCL from getting to the rebound and tapping it in therefore it is a foul

I didn’t see him lift his foot to be honest .. maybe there’s some better footage around ?

It’s hardly a slump .. it’s just down to a crazy injury list and their keeper going from the best in the world to one of worst .... some of his decisions and mistakes are inexplicable .

I’d be checking his bank account :)

Exactly. Guardiola has spent £500m on defenders and one injury last season to Laporte was the reason for their whole season falling apart, we've had our team decimated this year and weirdos think someone is to blame. Just one of those things. Suck it up, make a few changes in the summer and try again.

Okay I'm gonna try and be as objective as possible while I make this post.

Aston Villa are sitting 8th in the table which would mean that they're a good team this season, they lose by a narrow margin to Leicester who are now sitting 2nd in the Premier League, but all Sky Sports could go on about is how Villa are **** without Grealish.

It's disrespectful to both Leicester's achievements this season making out that they're only winning because Grealish isn't playing, and it's disrespectful to the other Villa players who just gave the team in 2nd place a tough game.

Aston Villa are a good TEAM! Emphasis on the word team, did they miss Grealish today? Yes they did, but it certainly wasn't the horror show performance that Sky Sports are trying to portray it as.

Now back to being a biased Blues fan, get in Leicester City!:joker:

Was this meant to be a response to my post?

I will agree that Leicester were more emboldened by Grealish being missing today, I just personally don't like how the Media (in particular Sky Sports) act like Grealish is singlehandedly carrying Aston Villa all the way up to 8th place above huge teams like Arsenal and Tottenham no less without any help from his teammates.

If you ever find a website that illustrates how many left footed players are in each team / squad I’d be interested ..

Some of the best teams I’ve seen over the years had at least 4 left footers .. some had 5 or 6 of them ..

For example Manchester United are playing with three ( I think ). Shaw, Alex and Matic ... with Greenwood, Mata and Alex Telles sitting it out .

Whereas Manchester City played with two today but three others on the bench .

That's the media's fault again. They're more interested in what's happening off the field then they are with what's happening on it.

A top class football player doesn't even need managing. How can somebody like Jose Mourinho who never played football at any high level, educate a World class player like Gareth Bale on how to play football?

England legend, Tommy Lawton, fell out with a lot of manegers in his time because they tried to tell him how to play. Lawton didn't need how to be told how to play, he was the best centre forward in the land.

Leicester and West Ham Arne't letting up, I thought they'd have dropped off by now.

I still wouldn't write Liverpool off, they've got plenty of talent in their team, they just need a win for confidence.

Yeah I suppose it's not a bad way to look at it as it does keep the season interesting.

I suppose though if we do get relegated at the end of the season then the Arsenal fans will be the happier camp out of the two fanbases with their mid-table finish.

And it's weird to think of Everton ever being in a relegation scrap as they're such a huge club, and you guys are having a fantastic season.

It really is good to see teams like Everton and West Ham doing so well this season, and even Aston Villa I suppose as it promotes the City of Birmingham in a good light for talented Footballers.

But seriously good luck to Everton, I've been waiting a long time to see them win a League someday, along with Spurs.

When we beat you guys in the 2011 League Cup Final has to be one of my best memories as you guys seemed so formidable compared to our team.

Wenger was a great Manager in fairness.

Your ownership definitely has a lot to answer for imo as he is clearly favouring his American Sports teams over Arsenal, which if he won't invest in the club then he shouldn't be owning the club imo.

First half of Wenger was amazing, second half not so great.

I like Arteta but I have big issues wit the way we play. The defence is actually OK. I dont like seeing David Luis in the line up at all. In fact I think Gabriel was outstanding before he got injured.

The midfield needs alot of work - Nothing new its been a problem for a while. I still dont like Xhaka as a anchor, he's too slow, too one footed, he must be easy to play against. Partey looks like he cant play two games in row without getting injured but he looks like a bargain. Fans, though, are already speculating he may be the new Abu Diaby.

The biggest problem is up front. Even though we have a striker who most would say was deadly in Aubameyang, we struggle to score goals. Arteta is trying to play five front players but most of them dont fit their role. Without going into too much detail, for example Bellerin. He's playing as like an old fashioned inside right when we get into the final third, with Willian/Pepe further out on the flanks. Liverpool have Mo Salah in that position, Man City have De bruyne/Gundogan. Immediately you see the problem

It's nothing personal against Xhaka but I agree with you that he just isn't good enough to be wearing an Arsenal shirt imo.

Partey looks like he has potential, but I have noticed that he does get injured a lot, I do wonder if he'll end up being a waste of money.

And yeah the tactics going forward don't sound great, it explains why Arsenal are struggling to score goals.

At least you don't remove your wingers when playing two strikers up front like we did against Millwall though.:joker:

In all seriousness though I do agree with you that Newcastle United are too bigger club to be facing yet another relegation fight this season.

At least you don't remove your wingers when playing two strikers up front like we did against Millwall though.:joker:Every Arsenal manager loves Xhaka. I have no idea why? He puts a shift in but he 's not good enough. I kinda feel sorry for him but is a cut throat business.

This kind of brings me to Mattéo Guendouzi. Remember him the player Arteta sent out on loan for disciplinary reasons? He's playing well at Hertha Berlin - not so good today though . Playing so well I think he should be recalled. A midfield of Partey and Ghendouzi looks good to me.

The line up I went thru were when we lost all those games at home last year. Arteta compensated by Putting Saka out on the right - we have big problems attacking on our right hand side - and he BTW has been easily our best player this season. No else is close to Saka for Arsenal player of the season.

Hello Joey.:)

Hopefully Steve Bruce is getting ready for a second stint at Birmingham City.

In all seriousness though I do agree with you that Newcastle United are too bigger club to be facing yet another relegation fight this season.

Out of interest Joey is there any Geordie teams that you have a soft spot for? I was interested because you've spent a lot of time in that part of the country so I was wondering if any of their teams ever grabbed your attention in a positive light.

None really Mock no.

I was more in the Manchester region really.

Birmingham is my main team and they wrecked my nerves in their last match but won.
Phew!!
Then I was born in Worcestershire, so more Midlands was my English area.

Man Utd is a team I admire though, my Grandad, admired how they rebuilt and came back from the Munich air tragedy.
I latched onto Man Utd from him.
That's probably the closest to the more North teams I like.

I have a soft spot for West Ham too

No disrespect to City fans but Man City irritate me too.

Just looking at the table now however, if Newcastle lose their next match and Fulham win again.
Then Newcastle will be in the bottom 3.
Plus Brighton one place above Newcastle have a game in hand too.
I'm sure I said on here I thought Newcastle may go down this season, never thinking I'd be right.

I'm not yet of course.:joker:

I never get it when teams send some of their better players out on loan.

And I have noticed Saka's potential, I am expecting him to be in the England squad.

Oh I knew that you liked Blues and Man Utd (they're great teams of course) I don't mind West Ham either actually, I'm happy to see Moyes also do well after he had a horrible time of it at Man U (I had to do it Alf) also MTVN's posts make me smile every time they win a game.

Yeah I'm not in love with Man City either, I respect what they've achieved in such a short space of time, but they're just not one of my favourite teams.

If we go to form then Newcastle are gone imo, however I expect them to pull out a big win and doom one of Fulham or Brighton.

If you do get Newcastle to go down on here then well done.

This was false. (First part of the sentence)

In reality Man City has not lost a game in PL since November 21st (8th match, 0-2 loss at away to Spurs) and their win streak is now 15 matches.

City just has a team of 1.000 players (even that much they can afford to send dozens on loan to NAC Breda, they are thankful for that & the financial support they are getting from City either)

Well the report the other day said that both Man City and Chelsea are guilty of gross overspending .. both have apparently spent £800 million over the last four seasons or so ..

I’m sure that City spent close to £200 million on FOUR fullbacks - one summer a few years ago !??

I seem to recall that Liverpool are somewhere close to zero spending or something when you take into account transfer fees going in and out .

More rest would be better as the results in terms of lack of goals indicate that everyone is seriously fatigued and struggle to play and end up injured more often than not.
