With the World Cup looming, I don't see that happening. It would become a scheduling etc. nightmare.
Since they aren't postponing the games, they should at least have the games behind closed doors without an audience.

True .. it may come to a point where they can only play 5 a side games :)

Premier League and EFL clubs to fulfil fixture list despite Covid-19 disruption
Premier League and EFL clubs have chosen to fulfil festive fixtures despite ongoing disruption caused by Covid-19 cases.
The Premier League's 20 clubs met on Monday to discuss the fixture list after six weekend games were postponed.
The postponement of a round of games over Christmas was a possibility.
No vote took place and so two rounds of fixtures are in place across five days from 26 December, while the EFL will play games "where it is safe to do so".
It had been expected that the Premier League's gameweek 20, starting on 28 December, would be postponed in order to ease the pressure on Premier League squads.
Instead, clubs have been advised if they have 13 fit players, plus a goalkeeper, they should fulfil their games.
"The health and wellbeing of all concerned remains our priority and the league will continue to monitor and reflect public health guidance, always proceeding with caution," the Premier League said.
FA Cup replays in rounds three and four have however been scrapped and talks are ongoing on whether to reduce EFL Cup semi-final ties to one-leg matches.
On Monday, Premier League figures showed 77% players have had two vaccination jabs, a rise from 68% in October.
Some players and staff have received three vaccinations but 92% have had at least one.
The Premier League said Monday's meeting saw "a range of issues discussed" including adapting the Covid-19 postponement process. Saturday's fixture between Aston Villa and Burnley was called off at two hours' notice.
Last week, Premier League players returned 42 positive Covid-19 tests in a seven-day period, the highest number since the start of the pandemic. Updated figures for the most recent seven-day period are expected later on Monday.
In Sunday's Premier League fixtures, Chelsea named just six substitutes for their draw at Wolves and Liverpool drew at Tottenham without a number of first-team names.
Five of Saturday's six fixtures were called off. Chelsea tried to get Sunday's fixture at Wolves postponed and boss Thomas Tuchel said his players were put at "huge risk... not just because of Covid but also physically".
It is understood Liverpool were among a group of clubs who pushed for the postponement of gameweek 20.
After Sunday's draw at Spurs, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said playing on 26 and 28 December was not feasible.
"It's impossible, we don't have the players," Klopp said. "We have to think we will get an extra case or two. We cannot just push it all through. The 26th and 28th, that's not possible. We would prefer to play but we need help with the fixtures."
The seven Premier League teams still in the Carabao Cup face ties on 21 and 22 December and will play three Premier League fixtures between then and 2 January.
EFL points to optimism
Two Championship matches and five League Two games on 26 December have already been called off because of positive Covid-19 cases.
The EFL said it anticipates further postponements but sees "optimism that disruption can be minimised".
EFL chief executive Trevor Birch said: "We will continue to work with clubs, authorities and other agencies to monitor the Covid-19 case rate and be prepared to respond accordingly, yet for now the view remains that we can continue to deliver games safely where clubs have sufficient healthy personnel in place, on and off the pitch.
"With club mitigation measures, the mass adoption of booster jabs and Covid certification now required for larger crowds, we are sure many fans will continue to feel confident in attending matches over the Christmas period and we look forward to welcoming them."

yup yup
very good decision, excuses like these indeed are pathetic for teams who can make decent squads from their b, c, d, e, f teams
all these premier league elite have more than thousand players anyway, just need to make more eligible instead of being overconfident
Arsenal looking spectacular tonight .... even the usual nonstarters have been super impressive

In PL: West Ham has 8 points (2 wins, 2 draws, 4 losses) out of a last possible 24 points (8 matches, 24 maximum) and 4 points (1 win, 1 draw, 2 losses) out of a last possible 12 points. (4 matches, 12 maximum points.

If however you count EPL match and EFL cup is: all competitions, it matches.
I don't think they should count though as they are completely different competitions to Premier League.
And the success can vary between competitions (One can do very good/good in Europe + domestic cups, but completely fail in PL and vice versa)

Their form is not good at the moment, but it definitely is not relegation form.
Also none of of the teams that they lost are exactly bad teams.
Their biggest drag at the moment is Antonio's (main striker) bad spell of not scoring in a long while.
Which might change now (He scored tonight)

We have been struggling against village teams of late but if we can get Pedri back playing and new signing Torres from City starts well we can start to rebuild after losing Suarez , Greizman and Messi .
We used to have Messi , Neymar and Suarez as a front three .. currently we have Memphis fecking Depay , Martin *****ing Braithewaite and Luke donkey Jong
Our star player for the last few months is youngster called Gavi who only turned 17 a few weeks ago ?!

Fair enough on the Grealish front.
Hopefully Pedri will return soon, Torres will hopefully hit the ground running and may Gavi carry on his current form.
Unfortunately for Barcelona though you're probably going through the same thing that Man Utd are currently going through, eventually it should turnaround.

Kinda weird that our best player last year was a 17 yr old Pedri ... he gets a lengthy injury lay-off ( after playing 72 first team games for Barca and Spain ) move forward a year and it’s another kid carrying the team as 16/17 year old Gavi has taken the reigns

Personally I like to read people's thoughts on their own Football teams, so I don't mind you "going off track" personally.
You've done very well to get Torres imo.
And I was wondering if it was the same Pedri at the Euros, but I wasn't 100% sure if I'm being honest.

even too weak for championship level, probably good enough for league two :fan:

Yeah ... he played virtually every league game then played well for Spain in the Euros then went onto play for Spain in the Olympics - a 17 year old playing over 70 competitive games in his first season !!

Having watched the last week or so of football, it's quite clear that man city are a level above everyone else in the league. It's too early yet to say they have won it obviously, but I don't think Chelsea or Liverpool have the depth of squad to compete when times get tough

Belgium are still rated number one on the world and are one of the favourites for the World Cup so if he chooses Everton then he surely loses all credibility.

So that usually means that he will score the winning goal :)

Newcastle pls snatch him away in front of City, with a year salary of 50 million :fc:
Watford are set to appoint former England boss Roy Hodgson as their new manager.
The Hornets are keen to make a swift appointment following Claudio Ranieri's dismissal on Monday with the club in the Premier League's bottom three.
Hodgson, 74, has been out of the game since leaving Crystal Palace at the end of last season.

Thank you !
I’m considering getting Coutinho after watching him for Brazil the other day ( fabulous) plus Eriksen as nobody will dare to tackle him giving him licence to play his game

Wow !!
PREMIER League ace Kurt Zouma could be prosecuted after being filmed booting his cat like a football across his kitchen floor.
The West Ham star, 27, is also seen slapping his pet’s face.

This is the 30th season of the Premier League. Time as flew by, I can remember it beginning as clear as day. I was 14 when it began.
To mark 30 years I'm gonna do a few things. I'm gonna pick a few fantasy teams from different criterias and a countdown of the top 100 players (I did this a couple of years ago but a new updated version is needed) and maybe a goal of the Premier League competition with a poll (like goal of the season but of all time)
