not sure how Ralf can say Man U are much improved with a straight face. I switched off after 30 mins, i hate watching Man U play at the moment
My word Everton are sh!t.
Looking like a relegation battle this year.

Ralf is a good interim manager, but he is a better director of football (look at what he achieved with a Leipzig for example at that job)
they should give him that job for next season, and start over next season with a better manager, or maybe make him search for new talented coach internally, he did the same with Nagelsmann

I've got to say well done to Newcastle today.
Their best result this season.
I think it's about time Manchester United choose a new captain. Harry Maguire just isn't cutting the mustard. Maybe stripping him of the responsibility of being captain will be better for the player and club.

That final place up front was a tough choice between Owen, Fowler, Torres and Suarez but Owen's season for Liverpool in 2001 was special. He single handedly stole them the FA cup and after scoring a hat-trick for England in Germany went on to win the Ballon d'or which I believe makes him Liverpool's only Ballon d'or winner as Kevin Keegan had joined Hamburg when he won it.
Jordan Henderson was also close to making my team but I opted for Xavi Alonso in the end but that was a close choice.
A Manchester United XI is so difficult to do, you have to leave out some big names and Premier league era legends. But I'll give it a go.
Players that are almost certain not to make my team and who I will be ruling out are... Van der Sar, De Gaea, Pallister, Ferdinand (yes, Rio, I know that shocks a few) Ince, Carrick, Pogba, Veron, Yorke, Cole, Sheringham and Van Nistelrooy (another who would make lots of people's team)
My headaches come at right back between Gary Neville and Denis Irwin and at centre back between Steve Bruce and Jaap Stam. Although I may just put 3 at the back and go with a 3-4-3 formation and play without full backs because if you play with a back four then you get one less of their great attacking players to choose from.

If I'd have gone with full backs I would take out Bruce and have Evra as left back then a 50/50 choice between Neville or Irwin at right back.
I need some help choosing a Manchester City team, so send in your suggestions.
Obviously players such as Kompany, Aguero, De Bruyne, Silva and Toure are certainties so don't give me those names.

only i'd say Van Nistelrooy could be there instead of Rooney but that is just my bias ofc :hehe:Most people would have Ferdinand over Bruce but Steve Bruce was an important player in getting Manchester United to the top. He was captain of their first Premier league winning side and scored two vital late goals against Sheffield Wednesday to pretty much win them the league. He was also the captain of their double winning side the season after. One season at Manchester United, Bruce was their top goalscorer and he was a centre back. People often leave Bruce out of these things but not me, he's a legend of that club.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ProBecause this year is the 30th Premier league season. So I was looking at it from that point of view.
If you want me to do you a XI of any team (within reason) then let me know what you want and I'll do my best to pick one from my huge, nostalgic football brain.

Liverpool
In goal would be Ray Clemence. Alisson would be second choice.
Right back. Alexander-Arnold could make it in the future. Phil Neal won a lot and was their right back for a long time. But I'm gonna choose Steve Nicol as my right back
Left back. Robertson would be close but I'm going with someone who didn't play that much left back for Liverpool but did for England and that is Emlyn Hughes.
Centre back. There's some good candidates like Tommy Smith, Phil Thompson, Mark Lawrenson, Sammy Hypia and Jamie Carragher but I go for Alan Hansen and Virgil van Dyjk
I'd go 3 in midfield
To the right side of the 3 Midfielders would be Steven Gerrard. In the middle of the 3 would be Greame Souness and John Barnes to the left.
Up front
Kenny Dalglish, Kevin Keegan and Ian Rush
I wanted to put Mo Salah in but someone had to be left out up front

I was joking of course .. he played well .. for Newcastle !
Everyone’s favourite Rice - apparently had a nightmare..
A defensive blooper by him in the second minute practically gifted Newcastle an early goal and then another massive mistake set up Newcastle’s equaliser.
I only watched the first half where he was MIA . I don’t recall him touching the ball more than ten times . To his credit the pundits did comment that he usually plays much better ..

He wasn't very good today but all players have off day and given the number of times he has carried us in games I can forgive him
Sadly our players are pretty much all knackered and we have no depth, I expect us to be competing for top 7 end of season rather than top 4
Watford and Burnley on course for massive wins
Replays show City’s goal shouldn’t have counted .. definitely a foul by Walker in the build up .
Too far back for VAR to get involved apparently
I can still see Spurs winning this :)

Goals being scored dont actually get added on usually, I've seen plenty of games where there has been an injury time goal and still finished on the time allotted.
Now if you watch the replay of the Tottenham winner you will see the 4th official devastated which shows the officials were corrupt

Due to there being so many to choose from I guess ..
We should start an A to Z list in here or in a separate thread listing all the options ??
I bet there are well over 40 options

it was more like it, but both arsenal and spurs have a lot of games in hand and should overtake united. They are going to have to pull it out the bag for the rest of the season if they want to be playing in the champions league next season, and I just don't think they are at that level at the moment
I wonder if it’s too soon to start comparing each team’s remaining schedule of games ?

Where there's money there's always corruption.

There's a lot of money at stake to win the title. Paying a few grand to the officials is pocket change to them. Corrupt to the core.

You're not going down (unfortunately), but lets not pretend that the bloos didn't think they were about to be the next man city when Moshiri arrived. I actually have sympathy there - I knew what hicks and Gillett wanted to do to the club, and rick parry picked them over Dubai in 06
Everton is in a mess at the moment and needs a clear out of kenwright etc, and until that happens (if it ever does) you'll be treading water. Too many people on bloated salaries interested in keeping their golden egg, rather than doing whats best for the club.

Bielsa has gone.
https://theathletic.com/news/leeds-united-part-company-with-head-coach-marcelo-bielsa/TIdygXBQiXWY/
Leeds United have parted company with head coach Marcelo Bielsa after almost four years in charge.
The Athletic reported on Saturday afternoon that there was serious uncertainty over Bielsa’s future, with Jesse Marsch the leading candidate to replace him.
Saturday's 4-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur was the club's fifth defeat in their last six Premier League fixtures.
They are 16th in the table, three points clear of the relegation zone, but have played two more games than 18th place Burnley, and three more than Everton in 17th.
The Athletic understands Bielsa’s position has been under heightened consideration since a heavy 6-0 loss at Liverpool on Wednesday, and Leeds were again a distant second best on Saturday.
Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani said: “This has been the toughest decision I have had to make during my tenure at Leeds United, taking into account all the success Marcelo has had at the club.
“With Marcelo as our head coach, we had three incredible campaigns and the good times returned to Elland Road. He changed the culture of the club and brought a winning mentality to us all. The moments created, particularly in the 2019/20 season and winning promotion to the Premier League, will of course live long in all our memories, myself and the fans included.
“However, I have to act in the best interest of the club and I believe a change is required now in order to secure our Premier League status. Recent results and performances have not met our expectations.
“We find ourselves in a precarious league position and I feel now is the right time to bring in a new head coach, in order to have an impact in the decisive stage of the season.
“Naturally, myself, along with everyone else at the club would like to thank Marcelo for his efforts and achievements and we wish him the very best for the future.”
He replaced Paul Heckingbottom as Leeds head coach in June 2018 and led the club back into the Premier League after 16 years away in his second season at Elland Road.
Leeds impressed in the Premier League last season, finishing ninth. However, they have won just five league matches this time around, picking up one point from their past six matches.

pogba is a cancer in that team and rashford is garbage
All that said .. if Sancho had scored that relatively east chance and Mahrez’s shot had not taken a huge deflection ..

mNZ6L44n3SIHe should try being an Everton fan or a fan of the other 90 odd football league clubs for a day then he wouldn't be so selfish.
In his lifetime he's seen Manchester United win 13 league titles, 2 European cups and a fair few FA and League cups.
He should to be greatful and not so angry towards his team.
Calm down mate, it just isn't your era right now. Stop being greedy.

I couldn’t watch it
It was nice to see Grealish doing so well yesterday - running worth the ball when the space was there and holding up the play and / or just laying it off when required ...
He played his usual game that has served him so well ... rather than trying to play like a ‘City’ player .
Just my thoughts - others will disagree

Holgate is the dirtiest player in the EPL this season

Liking Anthony Gordon more and more I can see him on England’s right wing soon
Spurs are fouling him repeatedly to keep him quiet

Everton is 1 point away from the relegation zone.
Interesting to see that Liverpool’s new wonderful player Diaz .
He joins the list of Suarez , VVD and Coutinho to be bought in the January window !!

If Arsenal get 4th spot by the end of the season then Arteta needs to be given Manager Of The Year, as no way should this particular Arsenal team be beating Man Utd, Tottenham, West Ham or Leicester on paper.

Tbf that particular game suited Grealish quite well.
I'll never see him as a £100 Million player, but it was definitely his best performance in a Man City shirt imo.
