Until proven otherwise, we have to go with what's been presented to us.

I believe that's being denied also, certainly unverified, which makes it all a bit more complicated. I'll be interested to see if anyone is successfully sued. I imagine to do so, there would need to be proof provided that claims made were untrue.

I would have thought that if anyone needed to be sued that it should be IBA as they were the ones who made the claim that both fighters had the Y chromosome. They were the governing body and they did the tests and on the back of those tests banned them from competing (which neither fighter appealed) so if they lied about the test results surely they're the ones who need suing not people who believed them? It's not as if these queries and doubts came out of thin air or just because of what they looked like

True, you couldn't sue anyone talking about them having an intersex condition as that's what was reported. Could probably go after anyone saying that there was no intersex condition and they were secretly "just fully trans" though - which I suspect Mr Musk might have done? Probably a good one to go after tbh, he'll have the world's best lawyers but, also, a "smallish" out of court settlement would be extremely likely because it would be irrelevant-money to him.

Maybe. I just don't understand how you can sue anyone other than the person (who was an authority over them at one point and did the tests) who told everyone they had a male advantage. Of course that's going to get people riled up and talking about fairness, it's a combat sport after all, it would be irresponsible not to question it, surely? So if all that was made up and the tests were falsified it should absolutely be IBA sued and made accountable for that, not only that but lost opportunity too in the competitions they were banned from in 2023

what's presented to us, is that the IBA under the Kremlev regime i mean presidency are very shady not publicly revealing anything about that ''investigation'' but just stating their propaganda in the media verbally
i think what are more facts are that transitioning from male to female, or vice versa is illegal in countries like Algeria, also somewhat enough proof that Imane is and always has been a female
in terms of ''masculine physique'' you shouldn't discriminate against someone for looking differently, but yes she does need to be in the right category event of the sport, with other women who are of similar strength as her, is fairest i think regarding boxing, so yes i do understand some of the criticism, but people can also just not be sexist, racist and lesser judgmental

Ohhh okay! I've not been following the case really, so the fact she's (possibly) a normal woman passed me by.

It'll be interesting to see if the IBA did lie about both of those competitors being Intersex.
If they (the IBA) have lied, then they owe the two girls an apology, plus any other punishments that can be forced onto the IBA.
If they really are Intersex (not Trans, as there is a difference) then the two girls owe the two silver medalists an apology for essentially stealing a Gold medal from them.
And the Olympics will have a lot to answer for, for allowing these two to compete.
