Erm there’s not a chance Albania are winning
no other entry selected so far is on the same level of quality as Zjerm though
so we are going to the land of the albanian maffioso :smug:

Kant is the maltese word for singing
that those woke bbc morons immediately think of the curse word, not my problem, this also explains why everything is so dead boring in festivals like glastonbury :hehe: with such PC behaviour by the british public
british artists performing in netherlands, germany love singing their songs like they should and no ''clean versions''
so withdraw then UK if you wanna moan

Oh you’re such a pointless troll and stop generalising us. The report was the BBC were worried they’d get some complaints (which they probably will from a few people) if they air the song uncensored. I don’t agree with the people that may complain but stop going for the entire UK.

Netherlands song is released on February 27th
it'll be an ''song what can be a international hit, but also quite ethnic, with a personal meaning however anyone can relate to the song''
it'll be bilingual language wise, so either dutch/french or english/french, we'll have to wait and see which of the two he went for
one of the songwriters is Arno Krabman (whom also composed S10's 2022 entry De Diepte which came 2nd in the semi final as well as a decent 11th place in the final) so this is Arno's 2nd eurovision composition (he is a veteran in our modern nederpop scene)

i may hope Luisa brings her a game for that live performance, studio wise Il Giorno Giusto is even strong enough to be in Sanremo, but that is my personal opinion
i hope the live also captures the mystical elements well like in the music video
Marco keeping Solo Fantasia quite a big secret for now, oh well, based on his discography/vocal skills i have a good feeling about his entry
on 6th March we have Austria's entry, which is a countertenor and he has been on the voice uk even, as well as starmania, and grew up in dubai, Johannes Pietsch or his stage name JJ, expect operatic pop there, and very classical type of operatic pop that is, similar to Dimash Qudaibergen i guess, co-written by his best friend Teya Dora (whom represented them in liverpool btw with Salena for who the hell is edgar?)

more normal songs, up against a pile of sexual filth
Stefan Raab also mentioned Australia's Milkshake Man in that final last night btw
i believe in Deutschland's act, and also a good thing Raab is gonna support them every step towards Basel, apparently they wanted to go with an english song at first, but Raab convinced them otherwise to go with this german dance track, which they had sent a demo version to him so this is a song which was only recently finalized few weeks before Chefsache selection

i really now hope San Marino makes the right choice tomorrow night, they could do a top 10 with one of Luisa Corna - Il Giorno Giusto, Pierdavide Carone - Mi Vuoi Sposare? or hopefully Marco Carta will be serving even better with Solo Fantasia (he's been keeping it a secret it seems until tomorrow's show) but i hope the former, Luisa really could've done well in this years sanremo either i think with that gorgeous song and she would be inspiring for many 50+ women across the world that you can still deliver quality music and that age is only a number

Honestly Nicky sometimes you’re an absolutely awful person. Not liking the song is fine but being a nasty little kant is not.

no i am disappointed
hugely disappointed
comparing this to past work from them, i liked their past work, The Corrs vibe
but this is all over the place, like as if they are clueless which direction they need to go with such echoing harmonies
so no i am not impressed, not at all
also this feels too stitched up onto them rather than fitting into their discography nicely
would've more liked a shania twain meets the corrs sort of entry
doubt juries will vote something messy quite highly either, they more go for the songs which you clearly know what genre it is, and a properly done fusion
sorry

Portugal - bland and forgettable (and they just took a massive tumble in the odds)
Serbia - Nothing special, again very forgettable.
San Marino - I always will them to do well, they are always the little underdog. They may actually get to the final with this, it’s not terrible.
Sweden - Love this one. And in Swedish!

Yes
was my second favourite there, shame my favourite Luisa got last place, age discrimination somehow :( she really sang her heart out
was a enjoyable mini-sanremo level of quality final :D
Marco Carta served a bop too, but i guess most attention went to Gabry and Andrea
even Pierdavide Carone had a underrated result, despite also having had a good entry
great opening either by Al Bano  whom btw received a honorary citizenship of san marino, from their prime minister :D

i like Serbia, but always have been a sucker for oldschool balkan ballads anyway and this has all the good ingredients of most of their previous strong ballads so
Sweden feels pretentious and too tryhard to please the eurofandom, wish they kept being them with basic pop, Erik was robbed :bawling:
Portugal is nice, as it is in native language, and they are always not caring about what works at ESC, it paid off great in 2017 for example

my favourite sorted  yup yup
my fave bit of the song is the french element, also how fluent she is at that, which is due to her having lived in Geneva in her childhood, so must be extra emotional representing her nation at eurovision in a country she used to also live in
am not surprised about the strong quality, considering her budget was 1 million euro (3.5 million shekels) also not surprised about that amount of budget
her aunt Ronit having quite a mega famous fashion empire (having done many major fashion show catwalk events as well as the styling for the 2016 Cannes Film Festival) talent deffo runs in the family i think

France with Louane
Cyprus with Theo Evan (and a song co written by Kontopoulos and Elsie Bay)
as for Georgia, some rumoured names were Nini Iris (but which i doubt) and Mariam Shengelia (with quite a nationalistic song, probably backed by the pro-russian party Georgian Dream)
i cannot see Georgia doing a Belarus 2021 with a pro-dictatorship entry and getting banned, no other country is that dumb to pull that stunt what Belarus did, could more see them going anthemic, nationalistic and maybe in georgian again  but that is what i think

UK i wanted Franz Ferdinand rumour to be true, with ''Hooked'' which would've been solidly in my top 10
Belgium had better options than Red Crab for sure (Monster, Desolee, Fille e Papa, Perfectly Imperfect, Gloria) all would've been better choices tbh, one of the strongest NF's this season and they went with this turd cuz of tomorrowland nostalgia or whatever

also calling Jelle van Dael a Loreen clone is hilarious, as Jelle did this EDM genre way before Loreen ;)
and Stefanie Callebaut is a farce she got robbed either, flemish kate bush soundalike but also something very authentic and very artsy

balkan ballads i always have liked though
full of drama, i am happy Nina and Darko Dimitrov (i always have so much faith in him to deliver quality ballads) went with even stronger Bond vibes in the revamp
now only the staging to sort out for Basel, but i am feeling hopeful, also their video of their revamp, was just to present the revamp, nothing more

Also I thought you liked Albania? Why is it 2nd lowest.
good, edited it now, they're in 20th
it is a decent song, very authentic, not sure if it can win, but it could do a top 10 result maybe or just outside the top 10, depends on the jury voting, albania never really has done really well there, same story with Poland actually, apart from 2023 with Blanka (but tbh that is a story on its own)
who i can see win, Austria
but my votes are heading to san marino obviously, Gabry also really adds that oomph like Martin Garrix, Tiesto, Armin van Buuren also sell a performance, i like his miming to the lyrics (others might find that annoying idk)
also he is 51, and still looking so young

i have a weak spot for Luxembourg's Laura, i am looking forward to her revamped song
also the music video teases i quite like the look of it, very modern direction they went for

20th is a nice respectable place from me for Albania, them sending something different than an average screaming woman or a english devamped mess, btw Besa took part in san marino this year, with ''Tiki'' which was better than TiTan but nobody really stood much of a chance against Tutta L'Italia there
and yes i like Montenegro, for their standards too it is a great entry, up there for me with their two qualifier entries (2014: Moj Svijet, 2015: Adio)
and i have a weak spot for Serbia's Mila, which has all the ingredients of any quality balkan ballad out there, okay it is dated but dated songs can also still be good, the main thing i like about balkan ballads, is the charisma, the warmth, the bags of personality, the solid production between lyrics and music
and yes it is a very solid year, so many different languages

also in a way similar-ish to Malta 2022 (Emma Muscat i am what i am) cover art, a portrait photo, like that she is really reeling me in quite easily onto her team

i think it'll be between
Sweden, Austria, Israel, Finland, Ukraine, Germany and i personally wanna throw Switzerland in there, could be appreciated that moment of calmth between all the crazy and uptempo entries and its in french and a cute ballad
the best of the balkans, i think will be Greece for some reason, but could also see Slovenia doing a same-ish result as Latvia last year (shock qualifier, and a decent jury score pushing it to a 10th to 12th place result )
shock nq, idk but a shock nq seems likely in semi 2 as that feels quite more open, maybe Malta

Erika Vikman is a pop diva, she owns the stage everytime she is on
and Ich Komme has fan favourite all over it, and by far better than Cicciolina (her 2020 attempt)
Austria well if JJ nails those vocals perfectly, he could be our winner i think, and if there is a good staging of course

Albania: electronic, ethno, and a vocal diva SERVE, this is Top 5 potential for them, and who knows maybe the balkans will unite for this
Armenia: i personally like the Imagine Dragons vibes here, also this feels like a very armenian like entry, despite being in english not armenian, not exactly completely DOA for me personally
Australia: i don't really give a **** about the context, but this gives me surfer vibes, very typically australian, the french lyric bit is funny and adds something extra, yeah like it
Austria: full on operatic, with a nice techno sauce near the end, this will be a entry which you either love or hate, no inbetween i feel
Azerbaijan: love the daft punk/purple disco machine vibes, with that nice ethnic instrumental too, love his edgy and unique vocals as well
Belgium: not a fan myself, but if the belgians are happy with this, cool
Croatia: it is a grower for me, but i preferred others from this years Dora
Cyprus: not sure what to think of this, Dream Team's weakest effort so far, and Elsie Bay idk what she even contributed here to this song, not her signature style at all, also a showstopper in semi 1, this could flop
Czechia: FIFTY Shades of Grey realness, love this all over
Denmark: Basic Pop but 110% of that by Sissal her amazing vocals and stage presence, also a nice Dua Lipa vibe tbh
Estonia: has been a grower either for me, quite a funny comedy entry, also not as insulting to italy as i first had thought
Finland: DIVA! Viva La Diva, Viva Victoria, Aphrodite, such a Slay Slay Slay
France: not a cliché french ballad for once, more depth to it, however this idk in terms of results how this will do, could also flop like Lisa Angell (2015) or Patricia Kaas (2009)
Georgia: the georgian parts and the ethnic dance are the best bits, but once it goes to english, NO THANK YOU to this propaganda stench
Germany: such a great dance pop HIT performed by such a quirky cool chick, also love a brother-sister duo honestly, and some hungarian representation this year
Great Britain: good britpop representation, could do a similar result to OGENE (NL 2017)
Greece: been a grower for me, love a no nonsense full on greek ballad, and a great one at it, also a modern nana mouskouri
Iceland: love a good dansband/epadunk entry, not sure how this will be doing results wise, but this seems good fun
Ireland: a dance banger but with a sob story, PERFECT, might not be another Bambie Thug alike result, but this could still do decently i think
Israel: thankfully not as outdated as Hurricane was last year, also the french bits are my fave bits in this, feels so personal to Yuval when singing in that language
Italy: also having a Fai Rumore similar vibe here, i also am not sure why people hate on this, it is a nice retro slow rock ballad, still think they could again do well honestly
Latvia: having a weak spot for this, FINALLY a entry in Latvian again in this contest, first time since 2004! also gives me a similar vibe as i had with Ukraine 2020/21 Go_A but also something very authentic, i watched the supernova final, and yes this was a well deserved winner tbh
Lithuania: i can get the Nirvana comparisons, and i love lithuanian language, but i wouldn't think of this as a 100% certain qualifier, they'll deffo need every vote and then q-ing around places 5 to 8?
Luxembourg: love this modern france gall tribute fun song, Laura is a good performer too
Malta: kinda wish she gave it more effort to revamp it differently, with more maltese language maybe, also otherwise just went for Lalaratakeke Lalaratakabum since that could've slayed hard this year
Montenegro: lovely James Bond vibe balkan ballad, love all the drama, a typical Darko Dimitrov ballad production
Netherlands: comparing this to last years europapa trash, this is a breath of fresh air, Claude is also such a charismatic performer, yes i am happy with this representing us
Norway: Latin Pop meets Game of Thrones sort of vibe for me, i don't hate it, so i'll be bopping to this
Poland: okay first of all, am happy this gets the hype a polish language entry deserves, but i myself preferred Teo Tomczuk's ballad Immortal
Portugal: Portugal being Portugal, and i respect them for that, not trying to please the eurofans too desperately, it is a alternative portuguese entry
San Marino: San Marino serving the biggest HIT of this year, who would've thought that  hope he can stage it well though, hopefully a similar atmosphere is created like Moldova 2022 Trenuletul
Serbia: an overhated entry, this is a proper and great balkan ballad, Zeljko Joksimovic's touch in the revamps instrumentals is noticeable and gives that extra power for me, and Princ also very good looking (also Aquaman realness) and he is a passionate performer, exactly what this song needs
Slovenia: not DOA, this is a cute heartfelt, meaningful genuine ballad by a charismatic performer, whom otherwise known for parodies, but this is something refreshing from the nations most popular comedian
Spain: issa bop, and Melody is such a good vocalist and dancer!
Sweden: not sure why it is the bookie favourite, but song wise, this is funny, but not worthy of being a odds favourite or anything, this is a nice addition to the line up, and first time sweden in native language since 1998, and first time swedish in the contest since 2012
Switzerland: something different than your usual eurovision entries, and in french, YAS this is great
Ukraine: ukrainian answer on the beatles, something different than their ethno entries, but still with ukrainian language, it is nice
Nicky91
10-04-2025, 08:18 AM
btw we might get Andorra back next year
they are currently in talks with Catalonia who wants to help them in terms of the sponsoring
Monaco idk when they'll make their grand comeback with that new broadcaster, it is good though they are taking their time to sort everything out
Moldova i expect them back next year, but they were correct in pulling out, if the quality of songs was poor, in etapa nationala
Nicky91

then eurofans are really tasteless
