I saw a City fan online explaining that Arsenal “bottled it” in a 2–2 draw at Sunderland, but City somehow didn’t — despite getting a 0-0 draw at the stadium of light. When someone pointed out that Arsenal actually scored, led the game, and only dropped points to a last‑minute goal, while City couldn’t score at all, he still insisted only Arsenal bottled it. At that point it wasn’t an argument anymore — it was a full‑blown loyalty test to the badge.
Name some other team that could field two or even 3 strong teams !!
Just about every player on each game’s bench would start for their opponent
They have at LEAST two excellent options for every position and three for some
We know you hate Arsenal but lets not be too silly mate
It takes seasons, not half a season, to be able to even put any club squad in a conversation about best clubs "EVER". I don't actually hate Arsenal fwiw, i hate Spurs (one of your other teams, only person in the world EVER to support Arsenal and Spurs). Arsenal have won nothing with this squad yet. One likely PL title doesn't constitute to - "one of the best squads ever". If you were to suggest Henry, Viera, Campbell etc were part of one the best squads ever then i'd agree, but wait a couple of seasons first, and that's assuming they actually win trophies, which of course they've not done in years.
And fyi, i would prefer to see Arsenal win the title over City this season. So don't give me all that "you hate Arsenal" sh!te. It's bloody ridiculous to suggest they have one of the best squads ever atm, they've proven nothing, we're half a season in. Yes, they're doing great, but City, Liverpool, Utd and dogsh!t Chelsea have been a joke this season, as BOTS mentioned earlier. Arsenal couldn't even beat rubbish Chelsea.

I go way back with Spurs.
How can you not love a team who fielded Hoddle , Waddle , Gazza and Ginola !?!
4 of the most naturally gifted players to every play the beautiful game

No argument there.
But it’s also fair to say this group has huge potential, and they’re performing well in a season where a lot of big clubs have been inconsistent. They’re not an all‑time great team yet — just a young side heading in the right direction.
Can I just reiterate that my initial claim regarding Arsenal was that they possibly have the best squads ever ( for a club team )
I never suggested that they were the best team ever or that they played the best footy ever !!
You can have an amazing squad and be pants .. look at Liverpool this season
They had a brilliant squad then added half a billion of amazing players and ….

Couldn't agree more with that, things are certainly looking very good for Arsenal atm. If you could get a 18-25 goals a season forward, you'd be terrifying tbh.

Amorim had brought discipline back to the team. They sack him, and on Carrick's first game, the team line up is leaked early

Rico Lewis is a defensive liability inho
Remember that dreadful losing spell City had a while back … he played in every defeat .
That said Marc Guéhi makes a fair amount of careless mistakes soooo
Manc all look nervous- this is a great chance for ManU to get good result today
United can bring on Cunha , Sesko and Mount
City have Reijnders and Cherki
30 minutes in
ManU the better team and had better chances thus far

West Ham is playing today, a Saturday, at 3pm. How sad that that's unusual now.
I fcuking hate VAR disallowing so many offside goals - we’re talking millimetres that time
ManU need to make some changes
Mainoo , Casemiro, Dalot , Mbeumo all looking very tired
Gianluigi Donnarumma having another amazing game
Why did only ManC go in for him ??
He doesn’t even suit their style of building up from the back
1:0 to ManU !!
Can they hold onto it
Ugarte will help when he comes on .. hopefully
Man U doing arsenal a big favour. What is happening to the world
This is a big 20 minutes for Arsenal
Man U doing arsenal a big favour. What is happening to the world
You beat me to it .. I paused a while
Cherki and Cunha are two great flair players
Whooohoo
Arsenal could go 9 points clear tonight if MabU can somehow hold firm
Casimiro is blowing out of his backside at the moment - get him off

City take off Doku Haaland and Silva
Jesus
Come on Ugarte !!
I am one of his few admirers it seems
He’s tough but he can play some real nice stuff
Am I dreaming !!??
What an amazing performance from ManU and there’s still lots of room for improvement
Crazy days
3 points to Arsenal effectively
???
it was another offside goal
Is that three goals disallowed by VAR today ?
What happened to the days they gave advantage to the attacking team to promote entertaining football ?

He was beaming like a Cheshire Cat
Did they say that Carrick had managed again Pep ( twice ) , Arteta and Tuchel in his four United games - unbeaten - 3 draws and today’s victory ?
Impressive
Don’t like Bruno Fernandes particularly but he was fabulous today
Looking at them today ManU have the potential to be a real threat
ManCity like Liverpool have added some absolutely fabulous players to their ranks yet seem to have gotten somehow weaker ??
These three are really brilliant !

If Arsenal win this evening, and Villa fail to win tomorrow, that's the title race over.

Hopefully
Though hasn’t there been quite a few cases of coming back from 12 or 13 points behind ?
Such a shame for Michael Carrick .. they play Arsenal away next !!
Sue Smith is fabulous on Sky Soccer Saturday - wish she wasn’t the only one worthy of a place

Yikes.
Spurs lose again
This time at home to lowly West Ham
the premier league has been very poor this season. Man U have a realistic chance of being in the champions league next season and that is insane. Spurs will be looking for a new manager very soon. The Crystal Palace Manager has said f this and is leaving at the end of the season. Liverpool have been dire this season. There are going to be a lot of managers available for work come the end of the season/world cup

Quickly having to synchronise TalkSport commentary as fcking Lucy Ward is the co commentator !!
Awful whiney voice, spouts rubbish and more annoying than all that .. she never stops talking - the very last thing a co commentator should do
What a ball ache
The game isn’t on TalkSport
Had to link the BBC player with Alexa to get the 5 live commentary
Now just have to synchronise

Crazy watching Arsenal playing in bloody Chelsea’s colours
COYI
Forgotten what it felt like to win a Premier League and man do I love beating Spurs. Thought it was gonna be yet another game we go 1-0 up and lose but thank god for Callum Wilson. He might be slow and well past his best but still knows where the net is
The Arsenal subs bench is stronger than just about any other team’s starting lineup

Arsenal with 96% possession over the last 10 minutes !!
Dyche ball …
Arsenal with 8 shots in the first half - not one on target
Last time that happened in the premier league was 2019 !!
Forest successfully managing to frustrate Arsenal … for the moment
Arsenal warming up 4 subs
Saka , Merino and Jesus look to be coming on
Madeuke Gyokes and Odegard all off
Trossard on for Martinelli at half time of course
One sub left
How on earth is this still nil nil ?
Arsenal have had about 17 chances on goal
Nasty elbow from Anderson on Merino - went unnoticed by the ref ( not the cameras)
20 minutes to go

very scrappy and ugly game this :/
Final throw of the dice
Eze on for Zubi
About 15 minutes left
Eze needs to start making impressions if he wants his England place
Looks like a penalty .,
VAR says no .. .. a slightly odd decision
Anderson just smashed Jesus off the pitch
No foul.
Fgs Arsenal, the one time I want them to win
Complacency probably slipping in now they're so far ahead

Unbelievable
Gykores is a bad fit for Arsenal but they still extend their lead to 7 points
Gyokores has the same number of goals as Callum Wilson
and in other news ....
This is the first season since 1980-81 that Liverpool have failed to beat any of the promoted sides at Anfield. They are seven points behind third-placed Aston Villa, who have a game in hand.
Gyokores has the same number of goals as Callum Wilson
Are you suggesting that is good or bad ?

Sorry
Can’t watch anymore of this dross
30 minutes in and Sky Recap highlights are 3 off target shots by Newcastle UFC
Hopefully the Jack Grealish Derby later on will at least be mildly entertaining with Jack and Morgan Rodgers on view
Maybe even Ndiaye , Dibling and Dewsbury-Hall … oh and what happened to Dwight McNeil who was always fabulous for Burnley
Then African Nations Final at 7pm and Barca at 8pm
Poor old Jack is gonna get a kick in up against the thuggish Matty Cash and McGinn .

Yeah
Something is definitely wrong
With liverpool, their new signings just haven't jelled. In a way its not really surprising. The team was set up to play in a very particular way with the players they had, and its just not possible to drop players in as direct replacements, so they have had to change the formation and tactics
I think liverpool are heading for some very barren years

Now I felt differently until yesterday’s result/ performance
With Wirtz finally showing up and Kerkez looking something like I expected them to go on winning streak ( or an excellent run ) and finish the season strongly.
Sadly it looks like it’s VVD who has some kind of problem …
Oddly enough early in the game he picked the ball up off the keeper and made really fast darting run taking the ball with him and I thought to myself he was looking real good .. but then the mistakes came again
Some guy on the radio said that Villa haven’t won at Newcastle for about 21 years !!
That was when Newcastle went down to EIGHT men in the infamous Bowyer v Trippier onfield fight ( both Newcastle players)
Mings finally coming on too late though .. I was hoping to see him smash into Joelinton
Arsenal unbeaten at home all season
ManU have been poor away all season
Sooooo ManU to win today then given this crazy season ??
Estevao masterclass today. Excellent goal, and a beautiful assist for Joao Pedro.

I really hope so. Crazy to think, considering our woeful back line, that we have the joint 3rd best defence in the league as far as goals conceded are concerned this season. Joint with Villa, only City and and of course Arsenal have conceded less
Crazy that the whole of Manchester will be united (pun intended) for this next game. Huge game all round.

There have been some fabulous goals scored this weekend in the premier league plus Lamine Yamal scored a scorching, long range side scissor kick yesterday as well
Sooo Arsenal’s defeat may have opened the door to ManC and Aston Villa ??
Arsenal’s forwards have apparently had a dreadful last eleven games .. goals/assists wise

Now I’ve calmed down after completely losing my head yesterday, here’s my take on Arsenal. Man Utd played well, and once they equalised they were the better side by a distance.
The problem for me is that there seem to be two Arsenals.
There’s the Premier League Arsenal — nervous, jittery, unsure whether to press or sit off. That version looks nothing like the team we see in every other competition. In Europe and the cups, the performances are sharp, confident, aggressive… they look like favourites. So watching the last three league games has been painful, because I genuinely don’t understand why we can’t replicate that intensity domestically.
Premier League teams have clearly figured out that Arsenal don’t press in certain zones, and they’re exploiting it. Liverpool had all the ball but didn’t get a shot on target — which basically means they were passing it around their own half while we sat back and waited. Compare that to the Chelsea game in the Leauge cup, where their back four were being pressed relentlessly in the first half and looked rattled. It’s like watching a Gareth Southgate side: waiting for a moment instead of forcing one.
Arteta has to sort this out because I’m getting nervous. I've seen this before. If we don’t beat Leeds, then it’s game on again after being in such a strong position.
there are strong rumours that Cole Palmer is going to United
That would be immense !
Maybe they will accept a crazy offer say £150 million ??
Guess Chelsea have Estevao and Neto and Gittens and Mudryk and Garnacho and Pedro and Delap and any more

Don’t know if it’s correct but this circulating ..
Arsenal’s top scorer is Own Goal with 4 !?!If that stat’s true, it probably reflects the wider picture. The forwards aren’t firing consistently, and as I’ve said before, if Arsenal do end up winning the league, it may well be the defensive unit that carries them through rather than the attack.
Hopefully this serves as a reminder of how fine the margins are. One mistake and two excellent finishes were enough for United, and that’s the Premier League — you can be punished very quickly. On another day, without that slip, Dorgu and Cunha don’t score, Arsenal manage the game, and it ends 1–0 or 2–0 with people saying they controlled it without much effort. But that’s not how it played out, and it shows how little room there is for error.
From here, they need to approach every match with full focus. Not as “just another league game,” but with the intensity of a cup tie. That’s the standard required if they want to stay in the title race.

I will be disappointed if Arsenal don’t win the league this time
Hopefully they start playing some dreamy football and win the thing in style as well - now the two forwards are fit again
This can’t be true , surely ??
Though they would all be excellent additions
[emoji599] 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗡: Xabi Alonso has told Liverpool he wants Micky van de Ven, Adam Wharton, Bradley Barcola and Michael Olise if he is to join them.

It seems to me that Arsenal are relying on set pieces to get their goals. As a strategy that has worked well so far, but like everything, teams start to figure out how to counteract it. That to me is why Arsenal games feel different.
If, at the end of the season, the strategy works and they win the league then they will continue that way next season. If they lose by a couple of points then they will need to rethink. Thats where arsenal are for me at the moment
there are strong rumours that Cole Palmer is going to United
I have seen whispers of ManU going in for Harry Kane ..
That would be an interesting development
Barca are also interested in him replacing Lewandowski but have financial issues PLUS the scoring record would be attainable at ManU
Man U only buy young players so kane will never happen

Casemiro ?
Martínez ?
Maybe a 2 year guarantee of goals that would propel ManU back into the big league ?

casimiro is leaving, martinez is young still. Ineos has a policy of only buying young players. That is a fact. They also want a low wage bill, so kane doesn't fit

Strange times though
ManU are desperate to get back in the top bracket …. Kane basically guarantees that leap ..
Also when Casemiro goes so does his £350,000 a week salary ( £18 million per year)

All the high earners are either being sold or dumped at the end of their contracts. Maguire, Fernandes and Shaw are the only high earners left and all will go in the near future
We just beat City and Arsenal ..... we dont have difficulty scoring now. We don't need an oap like kane ( who i have never liked )
Oh i really hope Chelsea don't lose Palmer.

he apparently hates london and wants to return to manchester, so thats driving it all. I don't think it will happen this week

Can't blame him for hating London. But yeah, cutting it kinda close now. But if he feels like that, im sure he'll leave in the summer.
Chelsea fans demanding Estevao starts every game now, and he should really. He tore Palace apart at the weekend. He really is an exciting young player. Maybe lacks a bit of consistency, but then he's young, and Chelsea as a team lack consistency atm.
As far Arsenal winning the title, i still think they will, however Semenyo has hit the ground running at City. He could make the difference needed for City. If they get Haaland firing again, the run is going to be extremely close. I mean, you can't count Villa out yet either.

Trouble with playing youngsters every game or in the majority is that pretty soon their bodies start to break down .,
Two obvious examples are the two Barca phenomenons … first Pedri broke into the first team and Spain international team at about 16 … had about 18 amazing months where he carried both teams then started picking up BAD injuries time after time for over 12 months …. coincidentally Gavi broke into both teams again at 16 just around the time Pedri was injured … he has same amazing effect on both teams but then , despite being far more solid and robust, succumbed to a series of horrendous injuries but he’s been out far longer - I think he actually came back but too early and it feels like he’s been missing for ages now
He’s stilly only 21 years old

Yeah i agree, he needs to be looked after and protected.
Tammy Abraham signed for Aston Villa
£18 million
Imagine if he nudges Watkins out of the Villa team and even England
Rumours coming out of Chelsea suggesting Palmer is unsettled on London
Wonder if he’s hoping Barca or Real Madrid will come in

he wants to go home to manchester, thats why united are a likely destination. He is homesick, some people are just not meant to go travelling
When people wonder why I don't do dry January I just tell them I'm a West Ham fan

Michael Carrick has equalled Ruben Amorim’s best-ever winning run at
Manchester United (three games).
Amorim had 47 games. Carrick has had 3. 😳
