It's was aired in a family time-slot, at 7pm. That was one of it's main dwnfalls. Because it was aimed at family viewing - they can't show a lot of stuff. They only had one adult show a week which airs nudity, swearing etc.

BIG Brother is finally dead. Neither Channel 9 nor Seven will pick up the series after Channel 10 gave it the axe early in the year.

There was speculation Nine would pick up the series and dramatically change the format, but sources said the network was no longer interested.

Channel 10 has confirmed it has a replacement program set for May next year.

"What we've devised is another franchise," head of programming David Mott said.

Big Brother first aired in Australia in 2001, but struggled for ratings in the past couple of years.

Such a shame. Well, it's been a great 7 years and we had some legendary housemates. For me, at least, it ended on a high.

BB08 was great, much better than BB06 and BB07. I'm glad it ended with deserving winners such as Terri and Aleisha.

IMO BB05 remains the best: it was amazingly hilarious. :hugesmile:

I think we can still share some BB AU memories, it's going to be weird not to have it next year. People can say whatever they want, BB AU was BB AU and it was great.

I know, I'm gonna miss it come April so much! BB08 was awesome and Brigitte was one of the greatest housemates of all time, imo. BB05 was great but BB04 is my fav. The only bad thing was the winner and the early eviction of Aphrodite.

Yes it really did end on a high - BB08 is my 2nd fave series, after BB04 which it does not get the credit it deserves. Possibly because it's suck in between of two of most successful series, BB3 and BB5.

Recently though, I made the tough choice to delete all of BB07 and BB08 off my computer :( It was sad, but had to be done sadly
