Anyone think this should be changed next year? Its all gone down hill this year to be honest, with judges basing their votes on all sorts and basically looking like they are protecting certain contestants. Yes, some people will disagree, but I think its fair to say many viewers feel a bit robbed this year. I have an idea that SHOULD suit everyone...including $imon
![]() Open the Sunday show with the results, straight away, no messing about. Then in the first half of the show, the bottom two have their sing off. Then the voting lines reopen...ONLY for those two/three if its a double. Then have the guest performers on. And then the results of the public vote. This way the public have more control, and wont feel cheated. And also Simon makes more money from it, so he should also like the idea ![]() People are losing faith in the public vote each week. I don't blame them to be honest. The only people who I think would disagree right now are fans of Katie...but think of it another way, a contestant YOU dont like survives 4 times in a row over people who you actually DO like. Surely it is much fairer to put it back to the public? Hey, Katie might still have been saved 4 times if it WAS down to the public...who knows? But noone would have grounds to moan about it if it was all done fairly, which IMO this year it hasn't been. |

No I agree with this totally. It also gives fans of more than one contestant a chance to save their 2nd/3rd fave, as most will vote first time to save just their overall favourite.

But the reason you are saying this is only because the way it is currently favors katie
![]() Look at it this way...last year if jedward had been bottom 4 times, and they went up against olly and the judges sent olly home...how would you feel? ![]() |

No. It's a good idea on paper but with the way the British public vote in most of these shows, I wouldn't trust them with a ****ing pencil. They've already made some appalling Bottom Two decisions this year, and as such the Judges have had to rectify those, and have, thankfully, saved the right act pretty much every time.
The Judges Vote is a core element to the show, IMO, much like the mentoring is/categories are. Last edited by Jack_; 22-11-2010 at 06:24 PM. |

If I was suggesting vote to kick out, then yeah I would agree that the public would make the wrong choices, but with voting for your favourite...just no |

Katie outsung FYD, FYD went
Katie outsung Bell Amie in the sing off, Bell Amie went Katie outsung Treyc in the sing off, Treyc went (and I was a Treyc fan) Katie outsung Aiden in the sing off AND was kept in by the public I'm not a Katie fan but I honestly don't see the issue. The voting has gone based on the sing off. |

Before I finish reading that,
Louis based his performance on last night's sing off as did Danni, well sorry she has done in past weeks and past years but obviously had to protect Paije. Most judges base it on the sing off.

I've agreed with every single decision this series. The right people have gone (well from the bottom 2 at least which have been wrong every week) |

Tough. Deal with it, Katie is a better singer and more entertaining, judges made the right decisions. I like your idea though x

No, I dont think that at all...but if the judges base THEIR decision solely on the singoff...as has been suggested...then Simon would have voted Katie off, after saying Treyc was a better singer, wouldnt he?

Personally I think they should add a 5th judge to the panel who doesn't mentor any of the categories; always a majority that way and the contestant-mentor bias is no longer an issue.

![]() it also applies to previous series' though it has stood out more this year. Lucy V Jedward being one of the most stupid decisions ever on txf...IF this is indeed a singing competition |

5 judges would be too many, Simon should just be an impartial judge next year after all he signs the eventual winner |

Good idea that should definitely be considered. The original idea of a sing off and each judge voting is a great way to build tension and generate excitement but the way the judges have taken advantage of this rule has definitely been for the worse. They no longer vote on the song in the sing off so its pointless, its now fixed up so they can overule the publics vote (basically manupulating the contest to their liking).
The only way to bring this competition back to the fans is to take up your suggestion. Doubt Simon will though, he has it all set up to bring in the $$$. |

Yeh I like the idea. ORrrrr let's go the whole way and have the judges just judge and be mentors to all--unbiased, basically (well, I guess they'll still have their favourites but because of talent rather than who's on their 'side'). That'd get it back to being about the contestants rather than who will win out of the judges.
