I state my case and if it’s unsuccessful I just go quiet .... sometimes for days ..

I use this strategy with the wife and in work situations.


It helps that I’m happy with my own company

I learnt my lesson years ago on that one , i've had more than my fair share of master manipulators ! Friends and past partners and its not a good trait if you want to keep people ~ they will see through you eventually and disappear .

it's not something i really think about. At work we arrive at decisions by reasoned argument and consensus. We have an odd number of decision makers, so it's never a tie

In home life, if one or other of us is firmly of a viewpoint then we go with that, i don't think we have ever strongly disagreed at the same time
