Wondering how long they had been in the contest at this point because - and not that I'm excusing him either - sleep deprivation can lead to extreme agitation and violent outbursts.

Also if she was spitting on them... Again not saying she deserved such an extreme reaction but... Well... She didn't NOT deserve a slap.

Also I have to say, no one would have such a bad reaction to this if it was another man this happened to (even if that man was much smaller and weaker, before someone trots out the argument that men are stronger).

I'm sure plenty of people would say this is wrong no matter who the victim is, but again, plenty wouldn't or would find it "worse" because it's a woman, including many supposed feminists. Make up your mind, world! Are we equal or not?

I'm not disagreeing that it was out of proportion, and physically assaulting someone (or spitting at them, for that matter) over something so petty as a chance to win a truck is obviously ridiculous. One or both of them should have walked away. But, meh... The world is greedy. We're raised to be greedy and to take take take. It's hardly surprising that some people get aggressive. Did you not see the black Friday chaos? Grannies physically assaulting children with their walking sticks, to claim the last crappy Technika LCD TV? This pales in comparison to many of the assaults I heard about last week... They just weren't recorded.

Then again, I'd be lying if I said I was fully on board with violence never being acceptable. If a junkie spat at me in the street I'd give them a slap. Ugh. Unless it was a woman, funnily enough, because I know that despite the hypocrisy and the rabble surrounding it, society does NOT want women to be considered "equal" in every way.

Or to use another example - if an adult seriously assaulted one of my children, I'd forcibly remove their jaw with my bare hands.

I agree Kizzy and condemn her action as strongly as I do his reaction, but as disgusting as spitting is - and it is - he went too far in assaulting her and breaking her nose. I still don't believe any man is right to assault a woman. Preventative restraint is one thing, but physical battery after the fact as a reprisal is altogether another.

My opinion on this whole thing is that the woman, thinking that she would probably be safe with the 'I'm a woman you can't do anything to me' card, decided to be an obnoxious twat and assault the guy to try and win a car.

I might get hate for this but idc, if a woman wants to step up and abuse the moral compass of men not assaulting women, then they deserve what they get, I'm not saying that breaking her nose was necessary, but she shouldn't have assaulted him and expected to get away with it scot free.

This, and feels like people are often too keen to excuse violence against a woman by saying "she probably deserved it"/"no one would care if it was a man"/"this is the result of equality" etc. etc.

Perfectly put, though I think a quick, stern slap around the chops would of been better, he would at least still be in the running for a car

Also, isn't everybody equal in Russia? Or is that just financially, they don't exactly treat gays well over there so I'd guess women don't get the same treatment either.
