As a female: I'd say no - both on proposing - and on being on the receiving end of it.

If the circumstances were right, it can be very sweet, loving etc: but I think it really depends on the two people involved.

The video that was put up the other day was lovely - but not everyone would like being the centre of attention in such a way.

Hm, it'd depend. But I'd find it worse proposing in front of friends/family than I would in front of a bunch of strangers.

In a restaurant, but I'd only do it when it was later on in the evening and there are less people around. I'd never propose in front of family/friends or a full restaurant. Far too attention grabbing.

I'd most likely propose at home, or somewhere secluded.

What I'm finding really nice about this thread - are the amount of people who are staying away from the 'big razzamatazz public show'' - it's quite heartening that some thing like this are being viewed as 'private' moments.

Mmm...not sure about that... I'd say it was as equally important: not only is a person being asked to commit their life to you, you are also giving them your committment to them.

I hear what you're saying though - but I think it's as important to both persons involved - unless of course the person being proposed to has made it clear that they always wanted the big ''showy proposal'' - if the person asking is as comfy with that - then go for it.

I am likely a very long way from even thinking of proposing to anyone,if I ever do.
However, I have seen in others that being in love with someone can lead you to do some things you wouldn't dream of.

I would say I think I would never do so in public but i'd never say never to that,emotions may take over.
