Default Opinion of him now...

First off let me just say yes Bear is a complete and utter tosser BUT (yeah there's now another but)

He's actually now the housemate that's making me laugh the most, it's just his fake reactions to almost anything that happens that I'm finding hilarious now, he doesn't even attempt to hide the fact that they are fake as **** but then I think that's part of his gameplan, he's winding the rest of those housemates up to breaking point and he's succeeding every time.

On launch night he was the only one that made me laugh then I went off of him ASAP although I did enjoy watching him because I find him to be a very interesting specimen and enjoyed watching his reactions to scenarios and involvement in the house dynamics (this to me has always been one of my favourite parts of Big Brother)

I also think he's quite intelligent but puts on an act as part of his plan, you could see him sitting there alone last night working out things and basically he got it spot on about the next eviction being a double too.

I do on one hand think this CBB would have been a lot less interesting without him there (to me anyway) but then on the other hand had he not been there we would have seen more of some of the others, but would it have been a true representation of themselves had Bear not been pushing them?

Anyway that's my opinion of him now, what's yours?

He's my favourite. I think he's brilliant and far smarter than everyone thinks. Also very funny and I love the way he calls out the ones who have contributed nothing to the show His nominations were spot on. About time Sam and Ricky were up!

....hmmm, but I think that we don't see true characters when pushed to the limits that they have been, Josy....all you can ever get with that is the 'very worst' and everyone has a very worst, so it doesn't really say anything at all that is 'true'....it's like those children at school who do similar because they know what will get the reactions and that's why they taunt etc and what they get in return is equally bad behaviour because that's all it can ever bring out, it's inevitable....he's hurt and pushed too many people for me and darkened their experience in the house in a purposeful way...not just because of who he is, like is mostly the case...that people don't enjoy it and are miserable because of clashing with a certain person or something..?...he's purposefully aimed to bring out nothing but negatives and to only think of his own time in there and his own entertainment and amusement...totally selfish and something that's one of my least liked things in someone's character....plus his contempt for his girlfriend's feelings as well is something.../shabby....

Yep, I completely get your point Ammi and agree with it, for the record I don't condone his bullyish behaviour or choosing a housemate to target and stuff like that, I don't laugh at things like that, I'm more meaning his reactions to situations, like when other people are arguing and the eviction results etc.

..I have smiled at a few things I have to say...like his 'fuggeddabout it' thing with Renee all mob style.....but then I've had to remind myself that it's because he has a few humorous elements as well, that he's been able to continue to push and poke people to ruining their experience and that he really doesn't care about that or see anything beyond himself in any empathy or consideration....

My opinion of him is still the same ... I still think he's intelligent and articulate and funny. I still think he just sees it as a game and has no personal issue with any of the others and I still think he's the linchpin of the entire series, a brilliant game player and should be this years winner.

...of course, if you can't win a show that was devoted to you and which you were made the star and feature in then that really would be humiliating....

Still find him annoying and his act is old so my opinion hasn't changed really, I did find him slightly more tolerable near the end of the episode though but he's still the one I'd like to see go the most

I thought I would really dislike him on launch night and despite many times of being over the top and receiving justified warnings for some incidents,I have found him hilarious at times and infuriating too.

I have come to like him more as the series progressed,I also doubt some of the others would have been high profile characters without him in there, Ricky for instance has bored me to death.
Despite there being many lighter moments that Ricky could have easily got involved in.

It is Bear's reactions to what happens and what others are saying that is now really funny for me.
Would I vote for him as winner, maybe not but if the lines freeze and he is left with some of the other dull ones there, then I probably would unless he was there with Frankie.

I never wanted him out the series at all at any time, good luck to him if he can go on and win this now.
Whatever else anyone may think of him, he has put massive effort into getting attention and although maybe not for others, for me he has been overall really entertaining to watch most of the time.

he is a twat but the problem is the "nice" people are very quiet so we are relying on him for at least something?

Bear is everyones worst nightmare in there because he won't let them coast to the final without saying a word to anyone. He's making them work for their fee and he's making it more interesting for us in the process. That house would be a total yawnathon without him.He is making the show the social experiment by letting us see how these radar dodgers react under pressure.BB have certainly thrown the cat amongst the pidgeons.People don't have to like him.I don't even like him as a person but he's a great housemate.

Agree with this, I'd put Heavy in there as well as he didn't sit back, we complain about people not doing anything in there and then complain when they do.. He's better than Lewis that's for sure

My opinion of him hasn't changed. I despise him and all he represents. That someone should be admired for behaving in a childish, anti social manner is appalling. I dislike the whole reality fame thing though., That people can achieve 'fame' just because they drink too much, have sex with anything with a pulse and be in general a nasty piece of work is for me the nadir of civilised behaviour and not acceptable.

I disliked his entrance into the house and I have disliked him ever since. It's like watching a nasty 9 year old bully at school. He has suppressed the other housemates...no one can say it would have been boring without him because it would have been a completely different show. It's been all about BEAR and his childish gang.
This last week I have found him funny on a couple of occasions...had he been like that from day 1 I may well have enjoyed him as a housemate. However he has been vile to people hurting them and pushing them to the limit with emotion...and that's not funny to watch...but it amused his tiny little mind.

I think he has issues...I don't class him as intelligent at all. He and his cronies have shown that they love dishing it out but cannot handle it when things go against them. Shallow, selfish irritant...

I dont like him and i think hes ruined the series.

But

I think that what hes doing is his exact gameplan and its worked (all hes missing is his redmeption story which im sure he'll pull out this week)

I hate him but credit where its due.

Over rated selfish shallow twat.
One of life's users.
As to him being in BB, wrong show for him, or at least BB has made a mistake in lowering the tone of the show so much to try and compete with all the other rubbish reality shows by not only paying them to appear but then also pandering and encouraging them.

Agree. He reminds me of what I see on a daily basis at work. But I can forgive and forget pupils because they are still classified as children. It's loathsome in a grown man. I've seen pupils goad with more intelligence than he can muster. They're actually more challenging in an inventive way. I can think of some who would rip him to shreds both mentally and physically. But these are children.

I still dislike him. HOWEVER the one area that I have changed my opinion on him is he is actually not stupid which I immediately thought he was. Which is annoying. He's actually putting on a deceptive act of stupidity and ineptitude. He's following the mantra, the art to being powerfully clever is to pretend to be stupid. It conceals how dangerous, sociopathic and what an emotional vampire he is. Bear may not be academically or book intelligent, he may not be able to discuss Nietzsches Ubermensch concept or discuss String Theory but he understands how to get from a to b in the most successful manner and outmaneouvre those who on paper have more going for them.

He's also emotionally highly intelligent IMHO. Which is why he's able to infuriate the like 's of Ricky Sam and make so called strong woman Renee cry. Even favourite Biggins became irate and demo started a not so cuddly side when he lost his rag with Bear. Bear understands people, what makes them tick and how to use information to his advantage. He was able to reel Renee (a woman about 50 and a fearsome Mob wife) in and totally dominate her when he knew she fancied him. He even managed to deliberately annoy Emma Willis!! His calm lack of reaction to Aubrey spit gate was also measured and clever. He never used it against her which EVERYONE else would have done. He's slowly wormed his way into gaining trust from her to the extent she now quite likes him. He wound up Heavy D for the HL show the day before eviction to troll Lewis and Katie and sat back safe in the knowledge it would get heavy D evicted. Bear is manipulative but can turn on charm and could get any one, he seems to be one of those guys who probably could pull a really intelligent PhD student from Cambridge University or a 46 year old business woman despite only being a scaffolder by trade. I can imagine him seeing a woman rejecting him as a challenge and wooing her wearing her down until she agreed to date him.

You don't go from being a pips squeak contestant on Shipwrecked 2011 to being in Celebrity BB 2016, the least famous hm but the most talked about. He knows exactly what he's doing and he's no one's fool.

Grrrrrrr. Its like when I discovered HM that I dismissed as thickos such as previous winner Geordie Shore Scotty T had Grade A* Alevels in Physics Maths and Chemistry and a degree in marine engineering from a top University and bb16 Marq held a degree in chemistry. Grrrrrrrrr.
