Renee and Aubrey calling Bear cancer tonight was UNFORGIVEABLE. I know it was used as a term to cut a cancer out of society but those two horrible bitches how bloody dare they say that about a human being.
The term cancer is a very tough term for anyone to hear when they are diagnosed as having it. Only with regard to the star sign should it be ever used otherwise. Sorry girls the man you want to cut out of society will beat BOTH of you in the final. I dont even like Bear but these high and mighty bitches think they are so perfect and above everyone well they ARENT. They can high tail it home and hopefully we will never hear from them again. We have all lost dearly loved people because of cancer and some of us are facing it in our lives. Last edited by rionablue; 26-08-2016 at 12:39 PM. |

It's a well known saying...
I lost my auntie to cancer last year very unexpectedly because she knew it was terminal and she didn't want us all worrying and I wasn't offended. Actually I find this thread more offensive.

Having lost people close to me due to cancer, I feel the same way as you. But I do see why some people would be offended by it. It was a silly move on Renee's part (did Aubrey say it too idk) though, considering this is a show were the viewers will pick up on anything slightly offensive.

I agree 100%. I lost my mother last year to cancer too, and again I didn't find it at all offensive. I find the sight and sound of him totally offensive however, and would love for him to fail at the final hurdle.

Cancer: an evil or destructive practice or phenomenon that is hard to contain or eradicate.

I don't like the saying, it's not nice and it's uncalled for, sometimes you have to be the bigger person.

I loathe Bear but it's a horrid term, don't care how popularly used it is.

![]() Have had a few family members who are crippled with Dystonia and it's a common slander term to call someone a cripple. Had a fair amount of very ugly people call my mother a cripple and walk behind her mimic-ing her poor mobility. Have seen some of the ugliest of human nature. Though, I don't get upset when someone says someone is crippling a situation, or the economy is crippled or this feeling is crippling. It's just a metaphor, a creative use of language, an emotive way to communicate new meanings. Metaphors don't necessarily disparage the victims and the causes surrounding those victims. #savetheenglishlanguage

![]() I get people can be offended by it, but I feel the op's reaction is well, a bit overly dramatic.

Im really really surprised you said that Amy Jade. I thought that they could have used ANOTHER term other than cancer. I dont like it used like this and thats why I created a post I dont even LIKE bear. Anyway a few people agree with me you are entitled to your own opinion but I am a bit hurt if I am honest. Peace though

Why does the sensitivity level have to be so high though? It's a perfectly acceptable metaphor. It doesn't lessen the affliction of cancer survivors/victims.
