He's not unanimously hated. I like him, and the rankings thread he's actually quite popular. At the worst, he's probably divisive.

As for the actual question, he probably has some hate for being already a dominant personality, which is always going to divide opinion

He comes of as pretty dominate, I admit. But it seems people hated him before this show even started.

And why are people calling him snake?

But a lot of gay celebrities are OTT and 'camp it up' and are not hated, but instead embraced, adored and gushed over. Not sure why such negativity for John when he does the same thing.

I don't mind John Barrowman.

He can be very loud at times but I think he could end up being hilarious in there.

I'm indifferent. He's far from offensive and is lovely but I can't stand OTT people who act like they're in a drama performance. Like, the singing tonight, I just couldn't find it funny, got on my nerves (and he only sang for ten seconds )

I doubt I'll ever hate him but I'm sure he might end up lingering in the bottom half of my ranks
