I think the opposite.

He's a tw@ that has been the most successful England manager of my lifetime.

I will always say that I'm happy with Southgate's achievements with England, and that I would be really happy if he were to lead us at the next World Cup.

However he does have to learn that at the final we have to start attacking the opposition, that's two Euro finals now where we have the better players overall, but let ourselves down by being too defensive.

We're at a final, you can't spend about 80 minutes of the game defending, and only attack for 10 minutes.

That's a joke right?

Rooney relegated a team that was fighting for the playoffs until he tookover as Manager.

Plus he has relegated three Championship clubs (I'm already including Plymouth as victims of Rooney's Management,) Southgate would never do that bad.

He achieved diddly squat squared as a club manager despite Boro lashing out millions

It's different in group stages, because you can flop hard in one game and still recover.

And tbf with England I felt like we were slowly getting better with each game at the knockouts, I think that we had our personal best performance against Netherlands for example, it's the only match this tournament that I would say England genuinely played well.

But the final was a few steps backwards and not acceptable, because it's the final so you can't hope to fluke a win off of about 2 or 3 clear cut chances, you need to be having at least 5 to 6 good chances to win because the opposition is much more likely to score against you in the final than in any other round of the competition, and Spain did.

Southgate still did better with Boro (which was his first job as Manager) than what Rooney did with 6th Place (at the time of his hiring) Birmingham City (which was his third job as Manager.)

As someone that watched Blues play Football under Rooney, yes it was more entertaining to watch than Southgate's run as England Manager (because it basically was like Football meets NBA) but his tactics were non-existent, that's why I don't agree with you and Girth on that one.

Plus controversially, ever since I was getting into Football, Blues are just a more entertaining team to watch than the England National Team, and Southgate weren't the Manager back then.

England are just a boring team to watch for some reason.

Thing is we had the strongest squad

We were in the weakest group

We qualified after 2 games but still played our first eleven needlessly in the third match which could have ensured every squad player get time on the pitch - improved morale
We were given a dubious penalty
We ended up in the easiest side of the draw

I still say that the only good team that Spain faced in this tournament was Germany.

Because tbf to England, a lot of the teams in Spain's side of the draw were playing worse than the teams on England's.

I'm not a football fan but I saw the first 20 minutes and I could see Spain were the superior team.

They had 70% of the possession.

Sorry to offend anyone. But I knew England were gonna lose, so I switched off the TV and listened to Classic FM.

Woke this morning, England lost. No surprise.

these euro's have been hit but more miss for me

way too boring football being played

one month and our eredivisie season is starting again all the evenings of stress combined with entertainment watching Fortuna Sittard games, i am excited for that again, especially as we got mostly a newer squad now

I saw teams like France being dire in the group stages.

Imo the real final had happened when Spain knocked Germany out, everyone else was poor in my view.

it was a charge at Kane, but a very light one, and especially too light to give a penalty for that

but tbh Dumfries had the intent of going for the ball, but Kane shot it a little earlier (also too high over the goal lol)

last night, i have to admit that 1-1 by Palmer was simply stunning, one of the best goals this tournament

England needs to freshen up their squad some more, hire Galtier (he's someone similar to Peter Bosz, whom also likes offensive football more than defensive play, and doesn't look at the big name stars when making his starting line up)

talent like Mainoo, Palmer, Saka deffo show lots of promise for years to come, and Pickford has also quite some years left in him for the national team i think, maybe give Branthwaite a chance in defence instead of Stones lets say

Wow

Lee Carsey is being touted as the next England manager

He’s in charge of the England under 21’s and plays front foot, fast , free flowing exciting football and has worked with all our young players ( similar idea to what Spain have done) !!

( Anthony Gordon rates him as the best coach he’s had)
