Talking with an accent as a kid/teen to make you sound 'ard and 'gangsta' is quite common, most grow out of it. It's stupid, but harmless.

Kids get their accent and vocabulary from peers, not parents ... And colloquialisms and slang come from all sorts of sources. It doesn't really matter what their parents sound like.

My kids don't sound half-English because their mum has an English accent... They sound like their friends.

Sounds like my mate Barry's life... him and his wife adopts kids..none of them talk like him ..all appreciate him though. ..nobody would believe an old drunk scotman though....so I don't bother appreciating what a cracking couple do for others on tibb.
