It nearly always effects it at least slightly I think. I'd be surprised if anyone who went first topped the votes for example but it obviously doesn't always mean they'll be out.

Yeah I abandened the thought Stacey would go because she was first on, but it could have had a role. I also think the order of what preformance they do effects it. Staceys last one blew me away, the best preformance of the night, but because it was last, less time to vote based on that preformance.

I think it affects the first 4 shows or so and the final, but when you look at the way they've performed in the finals:

On first were...

Series 3: Ray - didn't win
Series 4: Same Difference - didn't win
Series 5: Eoghan - didn't win
Series 6: Stacey - didn't win

The 1st slot is the worst slot to have in the final, sometimes its obviously the right choice to go (especially in Series 3-5) but this years was a stupid choice, Stacey should have been on 2nd at least

Lloyd was NEVER in the final 4 to perform, and often put up to perform early whilst Joe would perform later [admittedly, Joe IS a better vocalist but it'd be nice to change things up].

Oh right, that is 4 years in a row then! Series 2, it was shayne 1st andy 2nd and journey south 3rd. Did Journey South go 1st? I can't remember!
