I do fundamentally disagree with this notion though; it's nonsense that's peddled as something that happens "commonly" when it is NOT common even with young kids, and also not EASY with older kids, and it's trotted out constantly by abusers. Shouldn't even be given the time of day as a suggestion unless there is clear, direct evidence of manipulation or lies.
If an older child or young adult says they have their reasons, they have their reasons, and those reasons are not "mum says he's a bad man". Misogynistic claptrap.
