It all makes sense of his outbursts at the beginning of the series, he believed everyone had a "game plan" and was lying to him, but he had lost all control over recording and confronting them, therefore he was constantly in a state of almost uncontrollable rage.
Shows what may happen in the future, if I was his Mother I'd hide all the knives in the kitchen.....
