After buying a car, I was rather unwisely driving it home that day at high speed while still not really used to the car (and in the pouring rain).
Bombing down a section of road at about 115mph, the back-end of the car skipped out and I was then spinning down the middle of a dual carriageway. It spun 3 times anti-clockwise and on the third time round I almost caught control back, but then over-corrected and it started spinning anti-clockwise 'til it eventually came to a halt facing in the wrong direction.
I later measured the distance the car had slid and it was over quarter of a mile. God knows how I didn't hit the central barrier or go off the side at over 100.
For about the next week I was driving this fast car at 30mph everywhere like a tractor and being a mobile road-block to all other road users!
