It's a quiet start, but maybe it just needs to some time to gather some momentum? Maybe?

The preliminary numbers are in and the X Factor didn't do as well as we imagine FOX and Simon Cowell has hoped. The show averaged an 8.7 rating for the season premiere.

To put that into perspective, this past 10th season of American Idolpulled in a 16.4 rating, nearly double of Factor's numbers.

Like we said, they could've done better, but they also could've done much worse. The show needs to find its footing a bit and let audiences see that there are differences between it and Idol. We're not too worried about it, especially considering all the amazing talent that turned out just in last night's episode!

Pretty surprised tbh, thought it'd be an instant hit. It's on ITV2 tonight @ 8pm, is anyone watching?
