Brilliant post from DS: Why the Twins should win.
Quote:
Why THE TWINS MUST WIN tomorrow night
It's simple, really. You aren't just voting for the Twins now, you're voting to stand up for your right to be seen as an intelligent and discerning individual. All week we've had Natalie and the broken down BOTS crew bombard us continuously with their own version of reality, which is: Denise, part cyborg, part rags, coloured in with crayons and fueled on cheap wine, is some kind of poor old fragile victim, and that the Twins are venomous witches whose souls have been sucked out of them by an industrial powered Dyson.
These BOTS and haters tell us it's an affront to 'say no' to having your clothing removed without your permission. We've had it suggested that once a woman takes off her clothes, or shows her flesh as a purely financial move, she is then fair game for having her clothing removed without her permission and that she has lost her right to protest (utterly sickening suggestion - is a woman whose taken off her clothing for a man during a one night stand then fair game for future rape?).
We've had Natalie, powered on cheese puffs, lard, 4-day old bacon rind and Tizer, tweet that we're all ****ed for keeping the Twins in, that we're somehow all wrong for daring to see things differently from her, the media, and the apparently carefully selected zombies both on the BOTS show and outside at the eviction zone.
We had Brian tell Nicola she had no right to talk about Denise because she wasn't there to defend herself, and yet Natalie, at ever opportunity, including eviction night, has been given an open arena in which to pour spite and hatred all over the Twins -- including on CH5's The Wright Stuff show. No opportunity spared.
We've had to witness, time and time again, this utterly deluded notion that no one should dare to want to win a game show, despite the fact we're being told we're voting for a winner, and been utterly bombarded with pro-Frankie and Gareth - and now Denise - opinions. I'm sorry, I don't do mind*******s like this. We're either voting for a winner or a wannabe loser? Reach for the top, desire to win. Be all you can be. Coasters, fence sitters, wishy-washy individuals who pretend they have no desire to win because they're too spineless or because they believe no one likes a winner (the bizarre and feeble mindset of the loser), doesn't cut it on a game show attempting to crown a winner, where you vote for who you want to win.
BOTS should be neutral. It's up to us who we prefer and for whatever reason, be it the Twins, Frankie, Denise or Gareth. No one has the right to attempt to alter our perception of what is going on with clever edits, skewed interviews and hand-picked audiences.
Until this point, I'd wanted Michael to win. But I've changed my mind. I'd like Michael to come second to a Twins victory, because voting for the Twins is a victory for all those who are absolutely sick to the pit of their stomachs being coerced and nudged into thinking the way they want us to, sick of their anti-american sentiment (I'm not American, just so you know). This isn't some sort of weird conspiracy theory, it's been right in front of our faces all week, and those with their eyes open have all been acknowledging it.
So, The Twins must win on Friday night, because they dare to win, because they dare to be confident and because they take no crap.
They must win because we, the viewing audience, are sick of being treated like children in pre-school.
